We really need help. Here would be a good thing.
pg - M Williams
sg - K Bryant
sf - L Walton
pf - J ONeal
c - C Webber

Now this sounds good right.

First, Odom needs to go, he is too injury riddled and has not provided anything of interest in 3 FREAKIN years. Secondly, Garnett is a PATHETIC LOSER, he only won when he had passionate players around him like Cassell and Sprewell, Garnett thrived when he was one of 3 decent players. Garnett is a LOSER for not coming out like Kobe, I give Kobe credit, he aired his dissatisfaction and I respect/admire him for throwing Kupchak and Jim Buss under the bus, I wish the bus could stay over them two.

Third, the Lakers should go after J. O'Neal (at least he wants to leave and play for a winner UNLIKE Garnett), and give up Odom, Bynum (let's face it he is a overrated PROJECT), 19th pick and preferrably Cook. Next, go quickly after Ron Artest (trade softie Luke Walton and Cook if he doesn't go to Indiana), to have a reunion with JO and he ALSO wants to play for the Lakers. Next, go after a decent point guard that can shoot from the outside and can GUARD Mr. dribble dribble dribble Steve OVERRATED Nash.

Thus, you would have the following lineup:

PG--Decent PG to be acquired
SG--Bryant (the real MVP and the fan's MVP)
SF--Artest
PF--O'Neal
C--Mihm

Bench players to keep: Farmar, Mo. Evans, Turiaf, Radmanovic, and other bench players to be acquired including C, PF, and another SF and PG.

With Bryant, Artest and JO, you have strong nucleus on both offense and defense. I would love to see Z. Randolph (to insert over Mihm) as well, but salary cap and available assets may be an issue with acquiring JO.

if they trade for Oneal, they should give odom up for him. odom deserves to stay a laker. hes been playing injured for so long and hes been fighting down low and constanlty gettin hit but he never gave up and scored like 30 points in their last game. if they trade for oneal, i think they should go for the bynum, brown, radmonovich, mckie and vujacic deal where they get oneal and tinsley

Lastly your owner has said that he does not want to exceed luxury tax threshold and you think it possible to do these crazy moves AND sign Mo Williams (who will demand atleast the midlevel exception), adn Grant Hill(who wont play for pennies). Your cap ablities are kinda tight so trades will be one of hte only avenues, and Crittenton would be a nice pick up if you hold on to the 19th pick

Alrite would people stop talking about trading for JO without including Odom and Bynum, because its not gonna happen, Odom is the cornerstone of the deal, and the pacers are not goin to relinquish JO without a 7 footer in return whether it be Kwame adn his big contract or Bynum and his potential, and no Brian Cook wont work either, then the if the contracts work the first round pick will prolly have to be added, I live in Indiana and I know for a fact that Larry Bird and the Pacers legitimately think for some reason that they have a pretty good team built, so they're not gonna throw Jermaine away for scrubs and PROLLY not for Vlads contract either(they already got Murphy and Dunleavy's bad cont.). This is just a different perspective, but don't count on keeping those two, and also STOP THINKING YOU CAN SIGN RASHARD LEWIS AND TRADE KWAME STRAIGHT UP FOR ARTEST. The world does not revolve around making your team great...

Ricky -
I'm with you all the way, but if you don't give up Lamar for JO it's got to be Kwame Brown for the salaries and for the lure of his expiring contract. Otherwise Indy doesn't get enough back. JO makes 18 mil a year right now. Kwame is still only 9.1 so even then you've got to include other filler (Rad at 5 mill or Cook at 3) to got with Bynum at 2 mill. So if the Lakers are smart and can keep LO they've got to give up Kwame for JO. That means no Kwame for Artest. If the Lakers want to take the risk with Artest, and I'm not sure they really need to if they have both JO and LO (Wow!!), then they'd have to trade Luke. Again, I'm not sure I'd take that risk right now. If you get JO and it looks likely the Lakers will do so unless they somehow manage to stick their foot in it, they will have done enough to both appease Kobe and the fans. If you add in Artest, even with his great defense, you're absolutely running the risk of BLOWING UP your team. To me, right now, I think Artest is purely a desperation move. You only do it if you can't pull off a trade for a superstar. If you get the superstar, you focus on getting a decent point guard and call it a day. We will still have a very good bench with Farmar, Evans, Turiaf and either Cook (who sucks but is ok for bench scoring role), or Vlad (who has more talent but is still really a backup guy).

ok lets be relaistic. One, the lakers can't afford JO and KG both to be on the same team with kb. two, JO alone will not be the answer. THEY NEED MORE HELP. To get JO the pacers will want, Andrew Bynum (FOR SURE), probaly LO and then a draft pic (either 1st or 2nd). Now the lakers are lookin at a 2nd round (maybe) playoff team.

After this is settled away and JO is sealed the lakers should most definately go after Artest. For artest they may have to give up kwame and luke.

So now there lookin pretty decent with a possible western conference finals appearance. But, i feel they should also some way (but i dont know how) get Pau Gason who wants out of Memphis really bad.

Some may ask (including myself) how the heck will LA ever get this many good players. Well, they are LA and lets look at the NY Knicks, hugeeeeeee salaries on that team.

We will all wait and see but im excited
