Dallas “seriously” entering the discussions for KG?

Found this tidbit this morning. David Aldridge mentioned that Dallas was on the phone yesterday to Minnesota about KG. However, they couldn’t find a deal in terms of the specifics. Add Dallas to the “we want KG” list:

McClatchy News Service: Meanwhile, trade talks for Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett shifted from a possible Phoenix destination, with the Dallas Mavericks seriously entering the discussions for the first time, according to a league source. The teams talked extensively Thursday but could not reach an agreement on specifics, according to another source.

Sure just like Phoenix and us and golden state and boston and everyone else who has a god damn phone in this league. The bottom line is Mcfail is not going to trade him at this point in time.

I think the if Dallas made a deal for KG, that deal would include Dirk so i think it would kinda work out…but if KG comes to the Lakers, It would work out even better =] KG 2 LA

    Exactly!!
I don’t see the Lakers getting KG with Mitch there and JO i could see him coming since Mitch can’t get KG and go stupid and trade both LO and baby Bynum.

I agree they are very similar KG often likes to play on the outside (which I think he does too often he has way too many post moves to play on the outside as much as he does) like Dirk.

Lakers are {Profanity isn't allowed on theLakersNation.com -- Please go back and edit your comment. Thank you.}en done. I am not a basketball fan anymore. Because Kobe doesn’t want to play for the Lakers I am going to quit my basketball team. I am giving up my dream of being an NBA player, because I have lost all hope. I will never pick up a basketball in my life again. I am also giving up this site and watching basketball on tv. The Lakers have messed up my life and I am giving it up before it is too late. I want to say thanks to Kobe and Phil for all the good times they brought us, Good luck lakers and I hope for the best for the franchise, but I won’t be part of it. Good luck to you guys on this website, I hope for the best. Peace out guys. Thanks.

Would Cuban give up his soul partner for KG?

  9. Gravatar Icon 9 lakersforlife77

Ed24 you should learn from Knicks fans, Hawks fans, Hornets fans. We’re not going to win the championship every year, this isn’t the old celtics days, especially with the cap and other things. We’re in a tough time right now I know that, but It’s a little drastic to say you’re going to give up your hopes and dreams because we hit a snag. Is that how you handle tough situations?

That’s what I was wondering. Especially after that uncomfortable display at the press conference when Dirk got MVP.

Right now the Knicks are a better team than the Lakers, I would not have a problem being a Knick fan even though I’ll never be one.

i agree that picking up zach randolph is good. but the knicks ARENT better than the lakers even in the lakers current state. the knicks are a bunch of egos (aside from david lee and channing frye who is gone) that mesh HORRIBLY together

Lol now you’re seriously over-exaggerating. Kobe is better than the whole Knicks team put together, go see a psychologist opr something

Kobe is the greatest player of all time, but he’s not going to be there after this up coming season so the Knicks are going to be better

Now this is one statement I believe. Aldridge isn’t full of crap like these ESPN knuckleheads. Cuban is proably the only guy, too, besides Jerry Buss who won’t shy away from KG’s big money issues - fat contract, trade kicker, and wants extension where he ends up for big cash. Only thing is are they willing to part with something McHale actually wants. Not sure they are able to do so. KG for Dirk is lateral move all the way. Doesn’t make any sense. Trade the current MVP for a 31 year old who plays the same position and does much of the same thing (and hasn’t ever taken his team to the promised land either? At least Dirk made the finals. KG only got out of the first round once right?). Who else would they part with that Minny wants? I don’t think it will work.
