Ok guys, I’ve been reading some of your comments and articles on GetGarnett.com, I must admit you guy’s really read “EVERY” article that’s out there…don’t believe everything you read. If it’s out there it’s probably been talked about but then there is a lot that’s made up just to make it sound even better. We are taking our time to get the right players BUT we will not give up too much to get a big name…it would only set us backwards. Anyway, I barely want to talk about it so as not to jinx it. It’s purely rumor right now. It’s been floating around, but it basically looks like this from my memory:
Boston: Odom
Lakers: KG
Minny: Green, Ratliff, Kwame, Bynum
Works for Boston as they’re giving up Ratliff as expiring and trading Green (future player) to get Odom for the now to play alongside Al Jefferson, Pierce and Ray Allen. Makes them a contender for next year in the east.
Minny doesn’t have to take Odom’s contract which was the hangup with our proposed deal. Instead they get two young talents in Green from Boston and Bynum for us, plus two hefty expiring contracts worth basically 20 mill to come off the books next year.
Works for us for obvious reasons. We might need to get back Blount from Minny for us because we’ll be depleted at center. We could also re-sign Mihm because we have his Bird’s rights.
It’s just so good all around that it really blows my mind. I just don’t want to be the guy to get everyone’s hopes up here, especially since I’ve been one who’s been saying I thought it was looking like Minny would just hold onto KG and let him opt out. But here it is. I guess hope springs eternal. I don’t want to give false hopes or jinx anything is all. But I’m sure hoping myself.

Back to Jamaal Magloire. I’m looking at his stats, and Kwame averages better than him…and at the moment we’re looking to deal kwame, so we’d only be getting worse. In reality, we can only sign one more new player because if we completely rebuild the team, theres no chemestry and the new guys will spend most of the season trying to learn the triangle.
ARTEST is NOT going to be a Laker…at least not this upcoming season. Lets stop talking about him. We have a good team…we’re missing one major piece, which would be KG. We get him, the Spurs are going to have a horrible time competeing with the Lakers.

I had suggested a 3-way deal with minny and boston before. It all depends on whether or not Boston is interested in Odom. I think nwith a core of Allen, Peirce, Odom and Jefferson that Boston could compete in compete in the East. But I’m not sure if Either Ainge or McHale are going top be wiling to create a KG/KB combo. But I have a feeling McHale is under a lot of pressure from Taylor to move Garnett and get salary relief. Its a long shot but it could happen.
If you can not get Kg why not try a deal of Odom, Bynum, Cook, Farmar 2008 1st rnd pick for JO and Foster. Indiana saves about 6M in salary right away Puts them well below luxury tax, which is good because they are just at that level now. Then Odom’s salary comes off the books in 2 years so that will save them money after they extend Granger’s contract next year. The problem with that though is this deal puts them at 16 players so they will have to cut someone. just cut Owens (theres only 687K left on his contract). If you could get Indiana to agree to that trade Mihm becomes expendable, as opposed to trading Bynum and Brown for KG or JO where Mihm would be necessary. You could then used Mihm in a sign and trade to a team that is interested in him but did not want to spend any more money (chicago). Maybe a Mihm (S&T) for Duhon or Khryapa or a long shot in Sephalosha. Could work.

This site is to keep the confidence up to get KG. Instead I’m just reading a bunch of doubters that think it’s impossible to get KG. Lets not worry about a bunch of losers on other teams, like Gasol, and keep the hope for KG alive!
The psychology of the KG trade.
Its become evident that the butthead Mchale is the reason why the trade hasn’t happened. The Celtic Pride he shows is hurting the Lakers, KG and even his own team. Apparently, his hatred of the Lakers runs so deep that he can’t bring himself to do the right thing.
So, how do you handle that roadblock?
You bring in another team that he feels comfortable with. One that he feels not only comradery with but lands in his comfort zone. Well, let’s see, who could that be? Why, could it be Boston? Last nights punkjones rumors intrigued me. Why? Not just because the pieces fit. Not just because each team is made better by the trade. (a must requirement in all trades) But, because, it gives Mchale a good feeling inside to rationalize giving the Lakers his great player, which is also his great failure. Failing to be competitive with the great KG and watching the Lakers win with him, would be hard to swallow for this former Celtic butthead.
You see, not only is his team helped. But most importantly, his REAL team is helped in his mind, the Celtics. Danny Ainge, his friend, has been trying to right the Celtic ship for how long now? Ainge seems stuck, and is spiraling down. Mchale would be the savior of his beloved team. Adding Odom to the existing pieces of Pierce, Ray Allen, and other fine young talent that the Celtics have would make them a very good team in the weak East.
And who would be responsible for this? Who would be the man that made the Celtics great again? Who could go hunting knowing he personally turned the lowly Celtics around?
And who was demoted this year and probally is going away and could do one last great thing as GM, help his former team?
Mchale would do more to help and save the Celtics than anything he ever did on the basketball court.
He will never trade straight up with the Lakers. This is the only way. That’s why punkjones was so excited about the deal. He saw what it meant. The pieces are close. They actually don’t matter as much as we might think. Its the channel to accomplish the trade that’s important.
The must trade equation rule: All teams will be improved
In Mchales mind:
For the Lakers: Good, but they are stuck with a large contract
The Twolves: Good, the future now has hope
But for the Celtics: In Mchales mind GREAT. The Dynasty is back. An extra smile on his face when he shoots Bambi between the eyes.
This is the only way this trade will ever happen.
