Since the Nets passed on JO, the Pacers have lost a lot of leverage.
I see Walsh/Bird trading JO and his fat contract for Bynum/Kwame/Critterton/Cook.
I dont want to part with Critterton, he is our best pick in years, but you do what you have to do.
That leaves us with
PG: Fisher/Farmar
SG: Bryant/Evans
SF: Vlad/Luke
PF: Odom/Turiaf
C: Jermaine/Mihm
I believe that can be a championship with Fisher and Vlad (healthy) nailing open threes from Kobe/O’neal/Odom.
Also Factor in :
Kobe - 32 ppg /5 rpg /5 apg
JO LO - 36ppg/ 21 rpg / 9 apg
Theoretical totals (average of KB LO JO): 68 PPG, 26 RPG, 14 APG
Each of those 3 will benefit tremendously from the presence of each other. Finally, Jermaine will be able to operate without getting doubled, and Kobe won’t have so much pressure on him.
The fact that we got rid of smelfish parker alone, improves this team 10 fold.
Consider with LO O’neal we will pound the suns in the post all day and beat them, and that we were nearly 3-0 against the spurs this year (had it not been for a Finely 3), I see this team as a championship team.
