Looks like it’s almost time to put this baby to sleep. Looks like the first details of KG’s new home are now revealed:
BostonHerald: A league source just confirmed that the Celtics and Timberwolves have finalized a deal that will bring Kevin Garnett to Boston in exchange for Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff and two first round draft picks.
Garnett is expected to arrive in Boston this afternoon for a physical.
Garnett has agreed to a three-year extension with the Celtics beyond the two remaining on his contract, guaranteeing that he will be a Celtic for the next five years.
One reason for prolonged negotiations was the Celtics’ attempt to lessen the luxury tax hit this team will take next year, with Garnett, Paul Pierce [stats] and Ray Allen scheduled to earn a combined $54.4 million - the highest of any three-player combo in the NBA.
This will involve finding a way to lessen the impact of a 15 percent trade kicker in Garnett’s contract.

i dont belive it, the boston glob said he was on a cruise intil end of this week and thats whats holding the trade approval, so how is garnett arriving to boston for a physical today??????????????

Slowing down the trade/approval process is the fact that Garnett is on a cruise until the end of this week.
Time to put up the “what should we do with the site now” blog post. Had to be bleeping BOSTON. Sad say in the city of angels, today is officially barf on mchales face day.

Come on now…..it isn’t that hard to get off a cruise ship. This deal didn’t exactly come about yesterday…..it had to come together late last week…giving Garnett plenty of chances to get off the ship at the next port and hustle his way to Boston.

I really hope we end up getting a really good player like JO or Artest and we just spank this crappy trio in the finals.
