Actually NBA analyst if Memphis was looking to completely rebuild or sell the team that would not be a bad deal for them. They would get two expiring contracts worth about 11M and a Center with a lot of potential in Bynum. In a few years Memphis could have a good line up with a core of Conley Lowry, Gay Milicic and Bynum; throw in a good SG to take over for an aging Miller (which they would have plenty of cap space to get one as a FA) and you would have a good team even if Bynum only developed into a 15 & 10 guy as long as he learned to play defense. The problem though is that Memphis is not doing either of those two things so Gasol is not going to be traded. He is still young (if he was 30 they might actually move him or if they have another bad season then they might next year) so they have a couple of years to develop their young talent with him as the center peice. Everyone seems to forget that they were a 50 win team just a couple of years ago. Its not a bad trade under different circumstances it is just misinformed.

Another day, another stupid trade proposal by lakerfan32.

Memphis isn't going for that deal. Laker fans, who have done their best to throw guys like Odom, Kwame, Bynum and Farmar overboard....they now expect that other teams want to take them on and give up a good player for them.

Memphis isn't stupid.

im glad some are starting to see the light more. let KG go. its over. im still HAPPY AS HELL that we got D-FISH. once a laker, always a laker. i said it before, and ill say it over and over. LA has the best fans. we dont dwell on crap everytime something bad happens. we let it go, move on, and kick ass to a championship. sure we have our rough patches, but thats life. we had our rough patch pre-3 peat, and then we got our 3-peat. this is another rough patch, and we’ll make it back to the top again.

thats how it is in the NBA. it isnt NBA unless LAKERS are WINNERS. we are not like other sports teams that use “curses” and “bad luck” as excuses for their losses. we use our losses as learning tools, and jump back up again. i hope you all can understand what im saying, and most importantly, i hope kobe feels the same way. we cannot let drama define Laker Fans. We may be from Hollywood where things are made up. but Laker Nation cannot be anymore real.

I hate to be negative. For the last 3 years I have braved the downs and kept on being optimistic, but enough is enought. It takes a complete genius to possess the best player in the league and yet have a team that's going nowhere fast. And that genius who can take gold and turn it into tin is Mitch Kupchak. I hate to say this, but the future looks bleak.

The Lakers didn't amount to anything with their cast for the last 3 years, and they won't amount to anything with a slight variation of it now either. This is a very put-together team with no chemistry, no cohesion, and not much to hold it together.

It's funny looking at how Kupchak operates. Together with the rest of the retards of the Buss family they have no game plan. All he's doing is going around, finding left over point guards and signing them like there is no tomorrow. And still, he has no real point guard.

Let's review the point guard situation as an example of the rest of the team. Let's go back 3 years. Kupchak promised Payton he was keeping him, got him to sign, and then right away he traded him to boston to get Chucky Atkins and Marcus Banks. Payton got pissed at being lied to, didn't report to Boston, and Boston refused to deliver Banks. I don't remember all the details but it was something like that.

Then they traded away Chucky Atkins (along with Butler for Brown)... So much for having a plan.

Then it was "Smush Parker" (if this Mitch guy was any good at detecting talent he would have grabbed the "right" Parker when he was available).

This year they signed Derek Fisher. Why would you let the guy go 3 years ago, and then bring him back again when he's only half available? The poor guy has made it clear he may not be available to play on a consistent basis due to his daughter's situation.

Who'se left? Farmar (2nd year player), Vujacic (3rd year inconsistent player with no defense), Crittenton (rookie). They might have some future potential but none of them the kind of player who's far along to help Kobe now. All these guards, and the team STILL has no solid guard...

That's only the point guard situation. If that doesn't show you a complete lack of a comprehensive plan, I don't know what does. Mitch doesn't know the first thing about players, trades, managing salaries, how to trade in a way that you don't end up stuck with long, dead contracts (e.g. Brian Grant, Odom, Brown, Radmanovic), how to build confidence among your players, how to create an atmosphere where players can thrive...

The Lakers have been falling apart, and none of us, NONE, can show any signs of it stopping.
Qwuor,

Thank you for the info and yes you're right, he kind of blames Kobe or better said "Kobe's situation..." for his foolish choice.

Shame on KG to even mention Kobe's name on his interview. I have lost all my respect for this man, no I'm sorry, he's not a man. If he was a man he would not blame his fellow NBA player for his stupid decision.

Those 3 players, The Legion of Old and Frustrated Losers, are a good match. I don't care what they say, Boston will not win a title, not with those 3. They may make some noise, but title? Never.
Well said. I have lost all respect for this little boy.
He says he wants to win but goes to a team that has no proven winners, a complete moron of a coach doc rivers come on KG you idiot, no veterans who know how to win, a team that lacks depth, and wont get depth with all that money being paid to 3 players. He chooses that over a coach whos won NINE titles, the best player on the planet, proven vets who know how to win (fish/kb) have won rings, and better depth/talent. No respect for KG.
Dear Kobe,

"Do something and do it now". Well Kobe, KG was in our grasp and you had to F it up, by opening your big mouth and communicate to the world on ESPN radio, that you wanted to be traded. Thank you for killing any leverage the Lakers had (and if ignorant Kobe lovers, don't think its true, remember what KG said "I didn’t really consider LA because the whole Kobe situation is up in the air…”).

Explain how you, Kobe Bryant, crying on the air was going to allow the Laker organization to bring in talent, when the "superstar" on the team throws his team, no, throws the entire organization under the bus, like some crying b*tch. If you want a trade, at least show some professionalism and do it in private, not on public radio.

Kobe, you can no longer soley blame the front office for this missed trade opportunity. Yes, the front office is to blame for missing out on Artest, Kidd, Boozer, Baron Davis, but this time, for one of the best players in the NBA today, you are now thrown in this blame - ” I didn’t really consider LA because the whole Kobe situation is up in the air…”

In summary, the idiots that are Kobe Bryant (who because he's a loud moth moron who does not know when to keep his mouth shut, will never be greater than Jordan), Mitch (I can't make a trade to save my life) Kupcake and Jim (who the hell are you) Buss are in FACT MADE FOR EACH OTHER.

” I didn’t really consider LA because the whole Kobe situation is up in the air…”

Thank you Kobe.

Love, Long Time LAKER Fan (not Kobe fan)
” I didn’t really consider LA because the whole Kobe situation is up in the air…”
Bull**** KG. If you really wanted to win you wouldve gone to LA, we have vets that are proven winners guys whove been there before and guys who KNOW how to WIN. You go to a team where you have no depth, no real solid point guard, guys who havent even played in the finals, and guys that are not even close to the talent combined and the DESIRE to really win as KOBE.

How stupid can you be to really think it was Kobes fault that the Lakers didnt land KG?
Lakers didnt have the pieces to really make this trade happen. The Celtics had an offer that was so much better than ours and there prospect in Jefferson has already been proven to be good and our Bynum is up in the air. The fact that they had more young talent and didnt have a huge two year contract in Odom makes the deal so much better than the Lakers. Bottom line, its not Kobes fault, its our front offices fault for bad signings and bad past trades. Lakersfirst, get it straight.

Go LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
