Strong words from J.O. ESPN writes about the J.O. news:
ESPN: If Pacers forward Jermaine O’Neal has his way, he’ll be the help Kobe Bryant is clamoring for with the Lakers.
“It’s time for me to move on,” O’Neal said Sunday at Baron Davis’ and Paul Pierce’s annual L.A. Stars charity basketball game at USC’s Galen Center. “And the Lakers are the team I want Indiana to trade me to.”
O’Neal said he doesn’t want to be part of a rebuilding project with the Lakers. He said if a trade to the Lakers doesn’t work out, he’d also welcome a deal to the Nets.
O’Neal still wants to team with Kobe in Los Angeles

WHERE THE HELL IS MITCH!!!
JO is basically asking us to make a deal for him and it doesnt need to be a gut deal!…trade Bynum,Crittenton,Kwame,Sasha, cash, and 2008 pick!!!!
For the love of God, JO wants it, Kobe wants it, I’m sure the Lakers want it, WHY CAN’T THEY EVER MAKE A DEAL?!?!? Does the rest of the league just hate us that much that they don’t want to help or does Mitch only offer garbage?
We wanted KG but he’s long gone …
Jo is the best next thing for us ..
Hope he can stay healhty .. anybody know how much he makes this year ?? Hope there’s enough left for Artest !!
Fish/Farmar
KB/Mo
LO/Turiaf/Vlade
Luke/Artest
Jo/Mihm
Holy crap! My respect for JO went up and my respect for KG just went down south HARD. JO said everything KG should have said publicly (about any team, even if not the Lakers).
Now Mitch needs to do something fast. I really hope we don’t trade Lamar tho… Trade Kwame and Bynum, and whoever else is expendable… say Cook and Farmar.
But a trio of JO, Lamar, and Kobe? Hot damn, that would be sweet. Rounding it out in the starting lineup with Fisher and Luke would icing on the cake.
LAKERS, GET IT DONE ASAP!!! and don’t let that f-ing Celtic Bird use you!!
“O’Neal said he doesn’t want to be part of a rebuilding project with the Lakers.”
Rebuilding project with the Lakers or did they mean Indiana?
“O’Neal said he doesn’t want to be part of a rebuilding project with the Lakers.”

he said that cause he doesnt wanna end up in the same situation with us where are team is completely gutted and its only kb and JO…basically he’s saying KEEP LO!!!!
Fisher/Kobe/LO/JO/Mihm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He doesn’t want to gut a team he’s going to either.
Get it done Mitch.
You HAVE to make this move.
Fisher/Odom/O’Neal/ and some bum named Kobe.

Yay JO!
Do you guys remember one of the best all-star games ever…2003? MJ’s last all star game? That game came down to Kobe vs. JO (in regular time)…it just tickles me the idea that JO may play with Kobe. I mean he’s a competitor too!
“If I’m here, I’m going to help this team win a championship. We can get the Lakers to elite level,” O’Neal believes, adding that his recent surgery to repair a torn meniscus will have him at one hundred percent for the first time in two years. “People need to realize that my last two years weren’t down-years. I didn’t go into the last two seasons healthy at all. I’m healthy now and, at 28, I’m in my prime. The game is slowing down for me. I understand it a lot more. I’m ready to show people what I can do.”
DO IT NOW! MITCH! Can it be layed out ANY easier for the Lakers FO?
Kobe Bryant = in his prime best player in the league. 29 years old
Lamar Odom = promised a breakout year and can finally flourish as a third option. 27 years old
Jermaine O’neal = great defender, 2nd option and plays hard. 28 years old. Still in his prime.
VS.
Paul Pierce/KG/Ray Allen
^ ahhahah….LAKERS WIN~!!!!
“If I’m here, I’m going to help this team win a championship. We can get the Lakers to elite level,”
Wow, hes talking like hes already a Laker! My respect for JO just sky rocketed. GET IT DONE, MITCH!!!
if the pacers don’t take kwame farmar bynum fillers 2 future 1st round picks
then they are idiots.
they want to rebuild yet they wont take two very promising young prospects to go along with a expiring contract.
and they would do bad next year so they get a shot at OJ mayo while they get 2 future 1st rounders.
why do they want to be that stuck in the middle type team that we are right now.
they’ll get mid 1st rounders every year and would have to rely on getting steals in the draft for years and years while free agents don’t go there because nobody goes to indiana.
it makes much more sense to take our package now.
I think the only reason this trade is taking so long to do is because Crittenton can’t be traded until 30 days after he signs his contract. Its been around 3 weeks. So I expect this to happen in about 2 weeks.
D-FISH needs to get on the phone with Mitch and explain the 0.4 second rule to him.
As long as there’s time left you fight, and fight hard.
Grab your basketBALLS and run to the phone- we’re standing by!!!!!!
He doesn’t want to gut a team he’s going to either.
Get it done Mitch.
You HAVE to make this move.
Fisher/Odom/O’Neal/ and some bum named Kobe.
;)
Who da fux KOBE??? lol
GET IT DONE MITCHY!!!!!!!!!
“Me and Kobe have talked a lot this summer about getting me here,”
“If I’m here, I’m going to help this team win a championship. We can get the Lakers to elite level,”
THAT’S RIGHT WAY KOBE!! They need to know you’re still here.
Wave that magic wand MITCH.
Here’s an idea Mitch:
Bynum, Jimmy Buss, Jerry Buss plus your expiring contract for JO.
This way Jimmy can still hold on to boy Bynum - no pun intended, well, maybe a little!
Thank you JO, You know KG you can really learn something from Jermaine here, ;). This is great.
JO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>KG!!!!
i love the way he talks. he has good energy, good vibes. talks like a warrior. something kg never did. he never wanted to come to la. but JO here, it doesnt get anymore clearer on where he wants to go.
UNLIKE SOMEBODY, JO wants to be here.
i think he can do some good here.
JO Wants it.
JO is not only forcing Indiana, but he is forcing the Lakers to make the move. JO is there for the taking, all the Lakers have to do is ask the Pacers what they want for Bynum without Odom and work from there. Its not that difficult. So what, you lose one young guard, but now we still have another one. Also, give them a couple draft picks.. Just F’n do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mitch, you’re already considered a bum in l.a. why not redeem yourself FINALLY and get J.O! Get rid of whoever to get him, including Odom and Bynum. And push for Artest. With J.O, Kobe and possibly Artest, we’d be much better than J.O, Kobe and Odom. Defensively we’d be sick, Artest will get you Odom’s numbers but improve you greatly on defense. Defense wins championships and in the nba today, you needs stops against teams like dallas, phoenix and san anton. Those 3 could rule the west for the next 4 to 5 years.
THIS is the type of player we want in LA… A player that WANTS to play here. I love what he is doing. His soft threats will carry a lot of weight in the Pacers front office. JO will ultimately be the catalyst that pushes this trade through. Kobe should be happy if this confirms.
This really is the Lakers last chance to make a significant move this offseason. Fortunately, O’neal is making it easier for us. If this doesn’t go through, the Lakers FO will be in big trouble.
I’ll take KB/JO/LO over Allen/Garnett/Pierce ALL day.
LET US DO SOMETHING ABOUT GETTING JO.
We all agree that we need to get JO, and just confirming each other’s post and comments is not gonna get it done. We, all bloggers here, can make a difference right now. How?
One way would be to bombard Lakers’ front office with emails. If you really wanna do something, please send emails to the Lakers’ management, their email address is:
WTHR (channel 13) just said JO is flying into Indy and they will have an interview with JO right at 6:00.
Probably won’t be anything, but I thought I would let you know
Alright Mitch “Danny Ainge has a better magic wand than I do” Cupcake, get this done NOW.
If I would’ve heard JO express interest while KG was dependent on money two weeks ago, i would’ve been rooting for JO the whole time.

Do you have the link to that channel 13?
Is it channel 13 LA or Indy?
PLEASE SEND EMAILS TO THE LAKERS AND TELL THEM WHAT YOU THINK
feedback@la-lakers.com
If this thing happens, the fans need to bow to JO, because he did what KG didn’t: Kept in touch with KB, went public with the demand. KG didn’t talk to KB and later said he wasn’t considering LAL because KB’s situation was up in the air.
But, leave it up to the idiots in the front office to blow this. I’m not getting my hopes too far up.
To the founders of this great site, I know you’re considering a change of name. Please don’t change the name from GetGarnett.com to GetJO.com. Too topical. Change it to something more permanent that people will keep coming back to long after trade issues of single players are over. How about lakerdom.com, it’s available.
cyrus there is no way that will work

Not nearly enough people will read this post, less people will read the comments, even less people will actually listen and take the time to e-mail, and chances are whoever is receiving them will not show all those messages to the right people. No way that will work, the front office already knows we are b!tching about this. We just have to wait until Mitch “Danny Ainge has a better magic wand than I do” Cupcake to do something.
I said in one of my comments from the other post that Cupcake and J. Buss is sleeping … while Kobe is talking to J. O Neal.
Larry Bird runs Indiana, McHale Minnesota, Ainge Boston, and I can’t think of one ex-Laker who is running a team. Even the old hat Jerry West is retiring. Maybe Magic should get into the act and run the show for a while: Two problems will be solved in one shot: an inept Lakers front office moved out of the way, and all of them Laker-hating execs who used to play for Celtics will be put back in their seats.
mr47,
I’m not saying we send an emails and Kupchak will jump. It may sound corny when I say “steady drops of water puts a hole in the rock” I have no other terminology to describe it.
They may not do anything, but they pay attention if they get bunch of emails.
If you recall, as Kobe asked to be traded over the Memorial Day weekend, Lakers FO received over 500 emails; fans were asking not to let Kobe go; it was all over the news, even Los Angeles times was reporting those 500 emails sent to FO. As the result, Dr.Buss send messages to all season ticket holders saying they are rebuilding the team around Kobe, etc, etc.
And beside all of that; what would it cost you to drop a few lines and send them an email, maybe 5 minutes of your time.
Lakers F.O. this is a ally-oop please don’t find a way to f this up..! I’m begging you do something and do it now.
I for one have been ranting for days to get J.O even if it cost us
L.O and Bynum. I have been going back to the 05-06 years when J.O
was healthy and he was absolutely beasting on teams in the west..
05-06 season vs Dirk(31) 7-17 13rbs 3blks, 25pts 11-14 ft vs Gasol
(11pts 2-11) 9-19 14rbs 5blks, 20pts 2-3ft vs Duncan(26pt) 10-20
7rbs 0blks 25pts 6-8ft vs Shaq(18pts) 10-20 9rbs 27pts 1blk 7-10ft
last season playing on 1 leg vs detroit 4/03 10-16, 7rbs 2blks
20pts. vs cavs 3/27 11-18 5rb 1blk 32pts 10-10ft vs Bulls 3/25 15-24
14rb 0blk 39pts 9-12 ft vs Rockets 3/20 9-24, 9rbs 0blks 25pts vs
phx 2/27 13-24 13rb 7ast 6blks 28pts 2-2ft
Yes J.O had his worse season last year, I only compiled the games
against good teams that has Good PF/C. If you read a lot of those
recaps “J.O played hurt once again” that’s Y his FG% was 43%. This
guy is a warrior. He actually played more games than L.O last 3
years. He will hold his own against the Boozers, Duncan, Amare, Dirk etc
I don’t care what Lamar %’s are..L.O only wants to take 12
shots/game..as you can see J.O takes about 20shots/game..@ 50%fg
(that’s how efficient I believe he will be with Kobe. J.O is 46%
career) we need somebody to step up and take some of the scoring
burden off kobe. If he takes 20shots/game @ 46% I can live with that
than 12shots/game @ 47% for lamar.
J.O in the paint taking 20shots/game @ 50% and 8ft/g=24ppg would do
wonders for kobe. J.O would have Kwame to guard the Duncans, Brand,
boozer, Gasols of the world. Mihm can get off. putbacks. Mihm could
position on the other side of the offensive post.
Fisher/J.critt/sasha/vlad/ cook/ evans can all spread the floor and
Kobe could be the Slasher/Playmaker and take it to the hoop if
necessary..
Each season experts downplay how far we will go in the season; they
claim we wouldn’t even make the playoffs..but some how we do. Now
they claim Kobe/J.O duo would only get to the 2nd round…pfff I for
one believes If J.O plays 75games we are going to the Finals. I
don’t see a single team that can guard kobe and J.O and shut down
the Fishers/J.critt/ Vlad(if healthy) of the world. J.O production
matches most of those teams best big man and now they would have
kobe to contend with.
if Trade kwame and Farmer for Artest/IF WE GET ANOTHER DEF. MINDED SF, I think we can win it all; If w. ADDITION OF J.O.
Spurs: Duncan = J.O BOTH WILL HAVE 20-10. PARKER SLIGHTLY>>
FISHER/J.CRITT. PARKER..KOBE >>> MANU…KOBE HEAVILY. ARTEST >> BOWEN
SUNS: NASH>FISHER/J.CRITT..BUT NOT SOO MUCH IN PT PRODUCTION.
KOBE>>>RAJA. ARTEST=MARION. J.O=AMARE. I FINALLY LIKE OUR CHANCES.
UTAH: D.WILL=FISHER/J.CRITT KOBE>>>GIRICEK. ARTEST>>AK47.
J.O=BOOZER. I LIKE OUR CHANCES
HOUSTON: FISHER/J.CRITT>>M.JAMES. KOBE>>>FRANCIS. ARTEST=T.MAC. NO
WAY T.MAC KILLS ARTEST. J.O>>>>>C. HAYES. YAO>>MIHM I LIKE OUR
CHANCES
DENVER: A.I>>FISHER/J.CRITT. KOBE>>>>SMITH. MELO>ARTEST. J.O>NENE. CAMBY=MIHM I LIKE OUR CHANCES
CELTICS: FISHER/JCRITT>>RONDO, KOBE>>ALLEN. ARTEST=P.PIERCE. J.O=KG. I LIKE OUR CHANCES
MIAMI: FISHER/J.CRITTT>>>SMUSH. KOBE>WADE..SLIGHTY IN POINTS. ARTEST>?, J.O>HASLEM. SHAQ>>MIHM. I LIKE OUR CHANCES.
DETROIT: J.O HAS KILLED THE PISTONS LAST COUPLE OF YEARS. I LIKE OUR CHANCES.
I BELIEVE MITCH CAN PULL THIS OFF: LAMAR & BYNUM FOR J.O. & FARMA & KWAME FOR ARTEST. DYNASTY BABY..KOBE (28YRS OLD) ,J.O(28YRS), ARTEST (27YRS) THESE GUYS HAVE GOOD 7 YRS FOR THE DYNASTY
The only thing keeping this trade from happening is Indy wants LO and Bynum and Mitch is only willing to give up LO or Bynum cant have both. If i were Mitch i wouldve shipped BOTH their A**** already, were talking about a CONSISTENT 20-10 excellent interior defender, a CONSISTENT JO, for WHAT?!?! a unproven Bynum and Odom an inconsistent player, CHECK HIS GAME LOG/STATS PLEASE!!! AND YOU!! WILL SEE WHAT I MEAN, he has all-star potential BUT NOT ONCE, NOT ONCE, has he been an all-star. Come on guys open your eyes, ship both of them out NOW!
Realisticly seeing as though im not the Lakers GM, The way I see it, Indy doesnt have many options for JO and there rebuilding process, I think its best for Mitch to just layout the option hes already given them. Even if it means we start our season with our current roster, come trade deadline JOs price tag will be so low and Bird will have to accept our crappy offer. But time will tell.
