San Bernardino Sun: Usually you don’t want too many ex-Clippers on your team, but the Lakers probably know Elton Brand and Corey Maggette each are free agents after this season. If they aren’t paying Kobe, they probably could pay those two. Maggette is a great athlete; Brand is a great player and a great guy.

Still… Brand + Maggette does not equal Kobe Bryant. End of story. then again.. Maggette + Kobe + Odom would be an awesome trio.

kobe wont accept a trade to the clips because brand and maggette will be gone. a 3 way with dallas would work.

It doesn’t work under CBA rules, Lakers are still obligated to pay Kobe next year when Brand and Magette available. We are still way over the cap even with Kwame’s contract gone.
Unless we do a sign and trade.
Both Clippers are becoming Free Agents. First of all, we would have to get BOTH players to agree to sign(with total salary equal to Kobe’s 20 mil).(extremely hard)
Second, Clippers would have to agree to take Kobe.(easy)
And third, Kobe would have to agree to go to the Clippers.(impossible)

I would love to have Brand. Maybe they will take Odom back in a sign and trade. I think Odom would thrive for the Clippers as the main go to guy. T\
