While the fans and media are both dazed with the Kobe-trade madness, the Lakers, Kobe included, came out and kicked some serious butt Thursday. Kobe’s comments about the game are worth posting up. Kobe seems to be enjoying his team despite the circulating rumors.
Related Posts -Whittier Daily News: Bryant also praised several teammates for their fine play Thursday.
“I was proud of the way Ronny played,” he said of Ronny Turiaf, who had 13 points. “Andrew (Bynum, who had 19 points and 10 rebounds) had a great game. Chris Mihm had a great game. I’m very excited, particularly for Chris (11 points on 5-of-5 shooting) because he’s had a long journey back (from ankle surgery).”
NEW ROLE
Jackson plans to use Bryant in his familiar role as a scorer, but also as a playmaker. Bryant said he’s happy to tackle a new role if it helps to diversify the Lakers’ offense.
“I’ll do both,” he said. “I’m more of a designated facilitator, so I’ll do both.”
Said Jackson: “I don’t know how well it’s going to work. We’re trying it out now to see how it works. Obviously, there are situations where he’s placed in the scoring position, and he embraces that wholeheartedly.”
KG: “I am excited to become a Celtic”

GOT A QUESTION FOR EVERYONE…
IF I’M THE GM OF THE LAKERS IS THIS SMART or WHAT???!!
1.I DON’T TRADE KOBE, I WAIT FOR HIM TO DECIDE TO OPT OUT
2.WHEN THE TIME COMES FOR HIM TO OPT OUT, WHOS GOING TO HAVE THE MONEY TO SIGN HIM?
(CHICAGO, PHOENIX AND DALLAS ALL OF KOBES FAVORED DESTINATIONS WOULD BE LOCKED UP IN NEW LONG TERM CONTRACTS AND KOBE DOESN’T WANT TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE) HE’LL HAVE TO STAY WITH L.A.!!!:-)
3. FREE AGENTS WE COULD SIGN NEXT YEAR THAT WOULD FOR SURE KEEP KOBE HAPPY AND WANT TO STAY…..
guards
GILBERT ARENAS:HE WANTS TO COME TO L.A.(IT’S HIS #1 CHOICE)
BARON DAVIS:HE’S FROM CALI SO WHY WOULDN’T HE WANT TO SIGN?
forwards
SHAWN MARION:HAS ALREADY SAID HE WOULD LOVE TO PLAY WITH KOBE
ELTON BRAND:COULD SIGN WITH “THE” L.A. TEAM FOR CHEAP TO CONTEND
COREY MAGGETTE:A LIFETIME FRIEND OF KOBES SO HE WOULD FOR SURE SIGN
RON ARTEST: HAS BEEN LINKED TO THE LAKERS FOREVER!
JERMAINE O’NEAL:ALREADY SAID HE’D ALSO LOVE TO PLAY ALONGSIDE KOBE AND THE LAKERS “SUPPOSEDLY” ALREADY TRIED TO SIGN HIM
4.SIGN 1 IF NOT 2 OF THE 7 FREE AGENTS ABOVE AND KOBE WILL BE ECSTATIC AND WILL REALIZE HE’S IN A WIN WIN SITUATION!!!
HERES OUR WAY TO KEEP KOBE FOR 2 YEARS FOR SURE CUZ HES UNDER CONTRACT
BUT WE COULD KEEP HIM FOR THE REST OF HIS CAREER IF WE CAN FINALLY SIGN ONE OF THE FREE AGENTS LISTED ABOVE
WOULD THIS WORK???
Kobesno1fan. the lakers can not sign any of those players they do not have any cap space. Even with Sahsa’s, Browns, Evans contracts coming of the books the Lakers salary will be roughly 57M plus plus Ronnie’s salary plus if Mihm has a strong comeback then he will opt out so that he can get a bigger salary.
we can sugn at least baron, gilbert or artest
just with kwames 9.1 mil contract because if they come here they will do it for 9-10 mil because with kobe alongside one of those players will make us a very tough team
No the lakers will be over the salary cap again next year. Which means that the only money they will have to sign players will be the MLE and none of those players will sign for that amount of money. The only way to get any of those players would be in a sign and trade.
