You people are absolutely crazy. Calm down! Geeze. Personally, I don't give a crap about the Lakers. I follow PLAYERS in the NBA, not teams. Since Michael Jordan left the NBA Kobe Bryant is the next best thing, so I cheer for him. I don't care where he goes or if he stays. If he's a laker, I'll cheer for the Lakers. If he's a Bull, I'll cheer for the Bulls. I kind of hope that he leaves LA just to teach Jerry Buss a lesson. He has CONSISTANTLY made bad decisions for the past few years. Not the past decade or anything like that bc he HAS made good decisions in the past. Recently, he's been stupid. Especially this year. Over the summer the Kobe trade demand thing cooled down and it looked like things were okay again....and then Buss opened his mouth. If that moron had kept his mouth shut then there wouldn't be so much tension. Right now Kobe wants to leave bc he feels like LA WANTS him to leave. Who's fault is that? JERRY BUSS! Personally, I hope he goes to Chicago so he can get away from the drama of LA and so I can cheer for the Bulls again. I miss the days of Jordan......

ab4sure is absolutely correct - FOXXY YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!! The Lakers have had one of the highest payrolls for the past few years (championship years included). They offered Shaq the max contract when the signed him in '96 and then gave him an extension. The year before they traded him, they offered him another extension of $45M for an additional 2 years but he declined. So don't give me this bullsh*t that the Lakers aren't willing to pay the money.

ab4sure is also right about KG, the Lakers were willing to pay him but Kobe destroyed that dream when he cried and b*tched like a little girl and bashed the Laker organization, bashed his teammates, then asked to be traded. "L.A. wasn't an option because of the Kobe situation" - KG

The Lakers were cheap during the Kareem/Magic days??? Now you're making sh*t up, which makes you look clueless. The Lakers paid their players in their 80's very well - Magic, Kareem, Worthy - why do you think all retired as Lakers?

Yes, I am true Laker fan - I will support the Lakers even if they went 0-82. I saw the Lakers win championships and I supported them when they had bad years during the 90's. Then when the Lakers won their title in 2000, the fact that I supported them during the down years made that championship that much sweeter. I am a die hard Laker fan (I just don't support them when they win). I support the Lakers Win or Lose.

Foxxxy is clearly a clueless unrealistic fan that thinks throwing money will solve the Laker problems. He's probably the type of fan that thinks the Lakers can trade players like Mihm, Sasha for Lebron James ("c'mon DO IT MITCH). You f'n idiot!

The truth is … just a couple of weeks ago before they traded cook the lakers were paying over 70 million in payroll. That is within 2-3 million of being in the top 5 in payroll. Yeah they could sign bad contracts like the knicks and get over 100 million. As far as payroll is concerned you need to get your fact straights. also if Minny would have done that deal with kg for LO, Bynum, and others(which was a better offer) then they would have been close to 80 million. So is the FO willing??? Yes Are your facts straight? NO

I too agree that Kobe is a very skilled player (I never ever said he wasn't), but what I see everyone is here ragging on the other Laker players thinking they don't have any desire to win, when it actuality they do. Just because they aren't as skilled as Kobe doesn't mean they don't have the desire to win.

Then there are those "fans" that think Kobe can do no wrong, when in reality, he's done many things wrong, on the court and off the court, to hurt the Laker organization (please see my three examples above). Again, he is a player that is a curse and a blessing. Most Kobe worshipers buy into that crap that Buss "lied" to Kobe about building a contender, which is complete crap because Jerry Buss, the owner who helped bring 8 championships to the city of Los angeles does NOT like to lose. Now you're going to say that Jerry West built those teams...not so fast my friends, Jerry Buss, the OWNER, has to approve any trades and signings. Buss is the one that told West to bring Shaquille O'Neal to the Lakers AT ANY COST. Buss is the man that told West to hire Phil Jackson as the head coach, when Jerry West did not want Phil as the coach.

You guys may be willing to forgive and forget the negative things Kobe has done to the Lakers, but true fans know. As many great things he has done to help L.A. win games, he's also done many great BAD things that prevented the Lakers from improving (again see my examples from above). I'm not that quick to forget, no real Laker fan is.

Lastly, you guys are probably the same guys that trashed Jim Buss and Mitch Kupcake, for making bad trades (which they have done - all GM's do), but have you guys ever praised them for drafting players like Luke Walton, Jordan Farmar (who now everyone loves), Javaris Crittenton (who according to Phil is going to a major player on this team), Ronny Turiaf, or Andrew Bynum who is practically averaging a double double at the age of 20 (no, you guys were the probably the same idiots who said we should trade Byumum for JO). Again, I remember, true Laker fans do!
