Rocky Mountain News: With the Lakers leading 105-87, Anthony was ejected after he hit Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic in the throat area and he went down. But minutes later Vujacic was laughing in front of the Lakers bench.
“He did a little bit of acting,’’ said Anthony, an opinion Karl agreed with after Karl said team executive Mark Warkentien reviewed the tape. “He knew what time it was. He knew I didn’t try to choke him out or anything like that. I’m done with that (having served a 15-game suspension last season for fighting).
“I did grab him, but not intentionally. His neck was right there at the time. I put my hand out.’’
Officials, per rules, reviewed the flagrant foul. It, and the ejection, stood.
“I think I’ve got to give him the DVD of European soccer,’’ Vujacic, who scored a career-high 22 points, said when told Anthony called it a flop. “Then he can really see the flops . . . I was surprised he grabbed me.’’

i like the post game comments of Sasha. Look at the ref who describes the incident to other officials showing what happened at the baseline. I wouldn’t really worry abt this. Had it really been an intentional effort to get this throat on Melo’s part, the Lakers bench should have arose. I know the Lakers love Sasha and his movie reviews. ;).
Also, does this game leave all of you J-critt lovers over Sasha who’s the better player now. No matter how much of a good job jcritt does on pg position, it’s not enough to match Sasha’s three in a win over red hot 13 game streak mavs last year. I hope Sasha continues to get minutes and 3pointers. all in all, good job lakers.

j.critt did a great job in the 5 minutes he was in the game - 7pts, 1 ast (following that gorgeous double behind the back move after the steal) and 3 rebounds.
i’m glad sasha brought what he has consistently done at practices to this game. he needs to keep this up because he’s more than capable of hitting the three, it’s just never been consistent, and at this level, you have to be.

Dood… J-critt is a rookie, and he is on the same team as Vujabiatch, don’t compare the two. If you do want to do a pointless comparison, Critt is a better player in my opinion and he will show it when he gets minutes. Vujabiatch is inconsistent and costs games. Yes, I said it, single handedly costs games. With his fouls, his defense, and the choices he makes. I can remember quite a few games where the Lakers were behind, and making a come back, and the momentum the team had was totally destroyed by Sasha kicking the ball out of bounds and resetting the shot clock at the end of a game, or committing an intentional foul giving the other team two free throws and the ball, or not playing D and causing other players to have to foul and often times letting the other team get and ones. He is my absolutely favorite player to hate on the Lakers. Critt is amazing for a rookie. Will very much like to see what he can do, but until I do I will not say he is better than Vujabiatch, but I will keep my opinion that I THINK he is better.
haha i have to admit right after he got ejected i already knew the game was over…i was thinking he was going to get 6 fouls, but he still got ejected.
I don’t think it was intentional. I think he reached out and to grab Vujacic out of fustration and Sashas neck just happened to be there. But he did deserve to be ejected even if it was unintentional. Maybe even a suspension Kobe got suspended last year (twice) for less than that.
yea it wasn’t intentional just like when oj stabbed his ex he was just just putting his arm out and she got in the way… u can tell it was intentional because at the end of it he pushes instead of just releasing.
I think he grabbed him on purpose, I don’t think that he was trying to choke him on purpose though.

Perfect time to say this…. YOur point is Jack…this was definitely intentional…. he didn’t just grab his throat and let go, but held it there for a few seconds. It was a rash temper which he didn’t control, but will have a few games to think about it.
The only reason Sasha is getting more minutes than Critt is because of what PJ said, “I am sheltering Crittenton” so though I myself like what Sasha brings to the lakers he is just keeping J. Critt seat warm for the time being. As long as were winning i don’t care really who plays but make no doubt even at Critt’s young age he is the better player.

For sure he should be suspended for at least 2 games. As for Sasha he might maybe act it a bit, but that’s fine because Melo’s fault was bad.
Congrats for the Lakers bench. If they keep like that we have a shot guys. The key word for the Lakers is consistency. If we have that we are in a good place.
The key point is that Melo pushed off after. If it was unintentional he would of just let go or pull back. It clearly wasn’t. He grabbed his throat and pushed off.
