Again, don't trade for Jason Kidd, NOT TO LAKERS, NOT HERE, NOT NOW! I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd love for us to have Kidd and have him make a big impact on our team that could boost us to contending level! But he just won't do it with the way we're so packed with great talent at the PG position. With Farmar having an awesome season off the bench, D-Fish having great experienced help, and Sasha having an excellent perimeter shot, having Kidd playing 25+ minutes would only let them have 23 or less minutes total for the 3 of them (D-Fish, Farmar, Sasha). Getting guys like Artest, Big Ben, JO (only if Jo gets better, then I'll only say him), (again) just anyone that can defend great offensive players, or rebound with ease, or score greatly in the paint, or all 3 (or 2 of) them (seriously!)!!!!!!

[Comment ID #18950 Will Be Quoted Here]

That's a great trade. Like you said, the tricky thing is getting Sac to agree. But look at it this way. They are 7 and 12 with the team they got now. They are tied down for nearly $42 million over two years between Bibby and Artest. After the trade, that's pretty much vanished. They have Farmar for cheap for 2 years, and both the other incoming contracts are done at years end. This deal saves them a crapload of money for the upcoming free agent sweepstakes. So I think, yeah, if I was the Sac Gm I'd jump on that deal.

As I would if running the Nets or the Lakers. Its really a great trade that improves everyones situation.

This is the trade i would like. 3 way trade: The Kings, The Lakers, The Nets.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=429~2801~981~3002~617~25~61&teams=13~23~23~23~17~13~17&te=&cash=

Reason these teams do it:
KINGS: Kings just need to rebuild….Martin is hurt and Abdur-Rahim is out the season. With this they get a future PG with Farmar, future G/F in Wright who’s athletic ability has been compared to Joe Johnson and T-Mac, they also get Kwame’s big contract off the books next year so they can sign a big free agent next summer

NETS: Nets can compete in the East with: Bibby, Carter, Jefferson, Odom….they dont want to rebuild and this allows them to compete

LAKERS: Do I Need To Explain

The only potential problem is trying to convince Sac they need to rebuild. And they might ask for Critt, but either way the Kings can have Critt or Farmar, but not both

That’s a great trade. Like you said, the tricky thing is getting Sac to agree. But look at it this way. They are 7 and 12 with the team they got now.
We should be looking to move Lamar. We've been hearing how versatile he is for years, but he has been a BUST. Any good defender knows that to stop Lamar just park on his left arm. He mostly drives to his left and as a result gets charge fouls and frequently ends up just falling down after getting tangled with the defender.

Other expendable pieces are Kwame, Sasha, and Luke. I would not trade J Crit, Farmar, Ronny, Andrew, or Kobe.

dude... AI is MORE of a competitor than Kidd is... in fact, his killer instinct can be compared to that of Kobe's

FIrst off why would NJ trade Kidd for anything less than a package built around Bynum. Also all these stupid trades of Kwame + Vlad for Kidd are ridiculous. If you were the GM of NJ would you trade Kidd for Kwame and Vlad. If you did you would be fired on the spot and would never be able to get a job as a GM again.
I think they could get a better deal than that. AI was traded for almost nothing, but thats because he was sitting out and not playing at all. The situation in NJ will not get that far, Kidd is too much of a competitor to sit out.

here is an interesting trade scenario i came up with between los angeles, indiana, and new jersey.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=429~981~617~1016~2421~2750~1708~1013~615~1024&teams=11~11~11~11~17~17~13~17~13~17&te=&cash=

i know its kinda short changing the lakers a bit, but i think it can work out with jermaine at power forward, a position we have lacked talent in for way too long and an all around forward who can shot extremely well from long range unlike odom. i think indiana got the best deal overall and can make it work while with kidd and odom in jim o'briens run and gun type offensive system. the nets may seem to have gotten a bad deal, but they are paying less salary per year for 4 players rather than just 1 player in kidd. the nets also get an up and coming big guy in diogu and veterans in tinsely to replace kidd, murphy to give them offense at power forward and sasha to give them extra offense off the bench.

indy's starting 5

pg: kidd
sg: daniels
sf: granger
pf: odom
c: kwame

new jersey's starting 5

pg: tinsley
sg: carter
sf: jefferson
pf: murphy
c: magloire

laker's starting 5/bench (saved the best for last LOL!)

pg: fisher/farmar/javaris
sg: kobe/luke
sf: dunleavy/ariza
pf: jermaine/turiaf
c: bynum/mihm

So then Kidd will not come to LA. Easy as that. AB will not be traded, specialy after this season.
Like I said, I don't think we need him anyway. Our PG position is doing just fine. Yes we needed him prior to Fisher, but now with him and Farmar doing great we are OK.
