Kobe's Circus Shot

Kobe glad he wasn’t traded, is ‘happy’ with Lakers

ESPN: It’s time to do away with the image of Kobe Bryant playing under protest. After completing a Lakers practice Wednesday afternoon, Bryant said he’s glad he hasn’t been traded.

“I’m happy to be here,” Bryant said. “My guys and I — we have such a tight bond. Business and basketball sometimes can cloud things, but when you get here in your element and you’re around your teammates and just having a good time with them and thinking about them and not about the business of the game, that’s when it becomes fun.”

Bryant wouldn’t go as far as to rescind the well-publicized trade demand he made in May. When asked if he no longer wanted the Lakers to trade him, he essentially gave a no comment, saying, “I don’t get into that stuff.”

Nonetheless, the admission that he is happy to still be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers signifies a massive change in Bryant’s thinking and may indeed be analogous to a repeal.

awesome baby KOBE is here to stay i knew it
    lets go win tonightt

  3. ab4sure says:

This doesn’t make sense. He is “happy” he wasn’t traded but the fact is kobe has a no trade clause so he could not be traded without his permission.

Kobe is a Laker for life!!!

your right it dnt but at least he saying he happy with the team progression

  6. Hugo Boss says:

I got goose bumps reading the short article.

Colorado loves the Lakers (first) and Kobe (second)!

  7. Rpoc says:

He’s happy as of now because he would of been like LeBron in the East on the Trulls:

Carrying heartless maggots mirroring last year’s Lakers team that would burn in the depths of hell without him.

A powerhouse in the East (Celtics) stands in the way unlike LeBron’s gift wrapped trip to the Finals ONLY to be emasculated by a real team in the Spurs.

This team actually grew some BALLS. Not everybody. Like Cake thrower and Lamar.

Most importantly, winning solves everything. Any sport is the same.

Kobe’s finally coming around, however, I would like to hear him rescind his trade request.

  9. JBMONKEYMAN says:

this is a non story. He likes his team mates. Still dislikes and doesnt trust the overall organization. Rescind the trade request or dont waste our time.

Doubt it. This will be as good as it gets because Kobe’s got an ego and this team hasn’t done anything remarkable yet.

As a consolation prize the trust issues will continue in Chicago between their players and management.

  11. pjt says:

I think Kobe understands now,,he’s a Laker for life…Hollywood and Kobe forever…he also may understand now that after this season the Lakers can add all star talent due to the players that are going to be on the market…either way if Buss and Mitch don’t get the stars after this season or before the trading deadline…he can opt. out…The ball is in the owners court now to bring in some stars until then…he will.

  12. MILO says:

    Like it or not Kobe hata’s he’s a LAKER4LIFE!!!

  13. MILO says:

I hope Kobe shut’s down Davis with his defense like last game…….

Baron Davis had 20/8/7 … I don’t know, is that shutting someone down??? Kobe did better him slightly with 20/6/8 but then again kobe put up 6 more shots.

  15. ab4sure says:

    oops…kobe had 28/6/8

  16. ab4sure says:

Actually MIlo, kobe did play good defense on Davis for the last 3 qtrs becuase i think Baron had 15 pts. in the first quarter.

  17. shortdiezel says:

QUESTION IS: WHAT WILL BE HIS ATTITUDE IF THEY START LOSING?

  18. MILO says:

[Comment ID #19517 Will Be Quoted Here]

Well let’s hope he strangle’s Davis even more tonight

  19. Flush Odumb says:

Sounds good for now. Let’s wait and see what Kobe has to say after we lose in the first round again.

The L&kers are a mirage. They have too many nonproductive players. Sorry to burst your bubble folks, but as long as we’re counting on Lame-ar, Kwame, Luke and Sasha we are PRETENDERS NOT CONTENDERS!!!

  20. thomas thomas says:

sign shawn marion, ron artest and Luol Deng as free agents in summer of 2008

    trade lamar for Caron Butler

Trade Kwame Brown and Chris Mihm for Jason Kidd

    PG J-Kidd/Fish/J-Farm
    SG Kobe/Artest
    SF C-Butler/Luke/Vlad
    PF Marion/Deng
    C Andrew/Ronny
