Interesting stuff for you number guys. And even if you aren’t a number guy, these are positive results from a positive basketball team. This year, the Lakers are proving to be a special group.
ESPN: The following has been caculated about the Lakers:
57 wins
30% chance for Finals
10% chance for Championship
Hollinger’s stats are what they are, but it’s nice to see they’re doing well in a quantifiable way. Point differential is the leading contributor to the Laker’s good standing.

Don’t really like this playoff odd things..
But i guess its good to see LA up there..
but no need to get all hyped up for this
Odds for a championship though, one player away.
I concur^.
Thats why we are downplaying this good start
the Lakers know there good but Kobe Phil and
the rest of the team wants to keep everything
in perspective. We are good but champion good will
only show threw the rest of this season with our
consistency and our poise.
Because we are not going to win the rest of our games
this season nor are we going to beat every team like we have
lately. We are good like alot of the teams in the West but there
are 4 teams names who come out the West regarding the Finals.
When we get to the point were we are one of those names not based
on a good start but our play night in and night out then I can feel
good about us being considered contenders. Its flattering now but just like the motto of the season”One game at a Time”
No faith in the Laker team. Dissapoints me
We need defense. Bring Artest, specially now that he is injured. His value dropped.
strength of schedule plays a big part in the equation also. Houston is the only top westerrn team with a higher s.o.s. %
Is it faith, or hope?.
:=)
Both, actually there is a third one “BELIEVE” (which could also goes hand in hand with faith).
I dont think we are one player away from a championship, I think we are one year of deep playoff experience away from a championship. An experienced veteran like Artest would shorten the learning curve though. This team hasnt proved anthing just like Bostons stellar record hasnt. Only kobe and fish have deep playoff experience. The regular season is a whole different game from the postseason. Until we show we can go deep into the playoffs and take a team like san antonio to 6 or 7 games theres no way we should have a better chance at gettting to the finals than san antonio or any other team whos been there before.
