TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Clippers
If you were wondering why this game isn’t called the “Battle of LA” anymore, I think we know why. It isn’t really a battle when you expect to win by double figures and then do so.
The Lakers blew out the Clippers tonight in a 113-95 win at Staples. It was the Lakers 7th win in a row and their 6th straight on the road. Some key team stats for tonight include the Lakers 27 to 11 assist to turnover ratio and their perimeter defense holding the Clippers to 1-14 from downtown. The only thing that bothered me tonight was the Lakers hoisting 26 three point shots, mostly thanks to Sasha’s nine.
While they both share the same arena, tonight’s game featured two teams headed in completely opposite directions. The Lakers are heading to first place and the Clippers are heading back to familiar territory and get to play with the ping pong balls in June’s lottery.
Now, the bests of the night…
Top 3 Laker performers:
1) Pau continues to shine as a Laker. 23 points on 12 shots, including 9-11 from the FT line. He also had 5 boards, 6 assists, and 3 blocks.
2) Lamar would have had number 1, except he couldn’t make his free-throws tonight. He finishes with 20 points on 11 shots, 10 boards, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Best of all—0 turnovers.
3) Sasha played great tonight, as did Farmar, but both took some bad shots. Kobe finishes #3 with 17 points on 11 shots, 5 boards, 7 assists, and 2 steals. Only downer was that he had half the teams turnovers.
Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Vlad Rad got hurt early and struggled in the first quarter. 0 points on 2 shots.
Play of the game: Sadly, Mobley had the most electric play, but I personally like Fisher’s pick’n’roll with Pau where he led him perfectly.
What to look for next game: Another easy road game for the Lake Show. Seattle is only 10-18 at home. Game is Sunday @ 6:00 PM (KCAL).

I thought the play of the game was when ronny rejected the shot or when lamar rejected mobleys shot
i thought we looked a little sloppy in the 1st half, and what the hell is up with all the 3′s. We need to set the tempo by giving it to Pau in the post and let him work. That guy can pass. Or set up Kobe in the post, either way there were too many 3 pointers tonight and waaaay too many misses.
Oh well, i thought it was just one of those games, but we still got the W…hahaha.
How do you like my man Sasha? Yeah he did attempt 9 three pointers, Steve, but he made 5 of them. Looks like a good investment to me.
I think because the Lakers already felt they won the game before it started, so they decided to make some rain all game. I kinda hate Kobe playing 41 minutes, that too against Clippers.
Jezzz, wats up with a packed Clippers home game? Lakers fans should just have been there, coz’ the tickets are cheaper. eheh..
does anyone else feel weirded out by the fact that we are again the best team? it just has not really sunk in yet it’s weird actually EXPECTING to win.
midway through the first, when kobe slipped on the floor and tried to call timeout, cat mobley put his hand over kobes mouth to prevent him from getting the timeout. it was the cheapest crap ive ever seen. just bush league.

man it was a pack house of lakers Jack like me you had to be there to see all da lakers fan at OUR HOUSE when Brady a clipper fan on da court where is my clipper fan We LAKER fan took care of that we all BOOED the crap out of him. And if u heard some MVP chants through ur TV it was my section that started PR1 section

Sasha shot selection is horrible at times…I mean WTF!!?? He feels like he NEEDS to shoot; trying to get his stats up I guess…Sasha your not Kobe. Even Stu mentioned he shoots everytime he touches the ball…put a leash on it!!!
The only bad thing about Vlad Rad being out is…Luke “Turnover” Walton will get more playing time. He is sloppy handeling the ball…he commmitted a turnover and a foul all in one sequence…
Lamar needs to go to a basketball clinic on layups…How do you miss the easy ones…do the Spurs miss the easy ones…no. That’s why they’re the Champs right now…
Some of you may think I’m nit picking after a win, but these are the things that make all the difference in a tough Western Conference Playoff Series…

The Walton and Farmer give and go happened twice in the game. I like the one when Jordan dunked the ball.
The other day I was speaking to a co-worker when I all of a sudden had an epiphany….all the Clipper fans from 2yrs ago disappeared. I know…I MEAN I KNOW, I knew some clipper fans not too long ago. I swear to you all that I know of not one right now. That’s the difference between a clipper and laker fan.
