The center is beginning a second week of jogging in a therapeutic pool in his recovery from a dislocated kneecap. He probably won’t play until late March or early April.
L.A. Times: Andrew Bynum began his second week of jogging in a therapeutic pool, although there still wasn’t a specific target date for his return.
He hasn’t started jogging on a treadmill, the next step in his rehabilitation, making a late March or early April return date more likely.
The Lakers, however, were not concerned with Bynum’s overall progress.
“I think it’s going well,” Lakers spokesman John Black said. “There’s the normal amount of pain and swelling that goes with it, but there have been no negative reactions.”
Bynum has had three sessions in the pool and will have three or four more over the next week or so. If he feels no pain at that point, he will begin jogging slowly on the treadmill, gradually increasing his speed and distance.
Bynum won’t play in time to hit the early side of the team’s initial timetable of “at least eight weeks” for him to return. He has missed 22 games since sustaining a deep bone bruise in his left knee and a brief dislocation of the left kneecap in a Jan. 13 game against Memphis.

April 14th came to me in a vision
takin fo’eva. damn drew..
The Lakers have been impressive lately. We’d love to have him every game but we need em to throw down the defending champs. And then if we get there, against the Pistons or Celts.
The Lakers attitude have tremendously changed since we last faced the Celtics last December. Pau and Kobe are rejuvenated and it’s contagious within the team’s aspect.
I think AB is doing better than LA org. is letting on,not wanting us fans to get too excited. First he was scheduled to come back March 2nd just in time to “BEATDOWN” Dallas(lucky Bastards)but they said there’s still swelling in the knee but I say B!@#S!@# ! They’re deliberately holding on to him until at least 10 in the season to get some runs and to see how strong that knee is or THE PLAYOFFS. PG/AB/LOARELAKEZILLA.com,GET’CHA POPCORN READY!!!
late march? ill take that. gives him about 10 games to get back into shape. should be about right.
drew don’t worry dawg take ur time, when u come back we will be CHAMPS NI**A!!
Yeah. LA doesn’t want the league to get ready for Drew. The longer they keep weapons out of games the more trouble teams will have to figure out how to defend us.
