LA Times: Bynum expected back before playoffs… in 2 weeks!

Say what? 2 weeks!!!?

L.A. Times: Uh, nevermind.

The Andrew Bynum injury situation took an unusual turn Wednesday when Lakers Coach Phil Jackson stepped back from his Tuesday night decree that the 20-year-old center wouldn’t return from a knee injury until the playoffs.

Bynum could now return two weeks from Sunday, Jackson said, which would give him up to six games with the Lakers before playoffs.

“I threw that out there [Tuesday] to kind of take everything off the table,” Jackson said. “We’re [now] saying it was three weeks as of [last] Sunday. It would give him a week — four games, three games.”

I was confused momentarily, in the playoffs or before? Back to back conflicting reports by Zenmaster, but I’d take this over the prior…GO GO ANDREW!!!!

    Let’s do this thing!

I’m really glad to hear that Bynum will have a few regular season games to get reacclimated to the offense. We needed that since the playoffs are not the time to be getting reinserted into the lineup.

  16. gugy says:

is some way what a blessing this injury was. We got Gasol and Bynum is rested for the playoffs. Hopefully he will be almost 100% healthy when it starts and then step up to the plate so we can have a historically run.
I hope Ariza will be back too.

    GO LAkers!

If you had a time machine you should go back in time on 1/13 and run onto the court and yell “Get the f**k away from bynum lamar.”

Good news, hopefully they arent rushing things, and he comes back strong.

  26. lakerz says:

    im so happy

  27. Kobe124 says:

    Two WORDS!!!! TWIN TOWERS!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. 24allup inya says:

We need Bynum asap and yes indeed this will be our version of the twin towers Bynum will own Shaq and Gasol will own Amare/Bynum will own Thomas and Gasol will own Duncan oh yea be verry scared Dantoni/Popob!tch fu-ck you two hater mudafukers!!!

  29. ricky says:

okay, so andrew bynum seems to be ready for a big return soon and pau gasol is likely to return this weekend. im very excited and i cant wait till bynum and gasol join forces in the front court. this is gonna be heck of a frontline tandem. the biggest frontline since duncan and robinson.

things are starting to look up in lakerland and i cant wait for the last stretch going into the playoffs.

i also wish ariza a speedy recovery and i hope that he can return in time for the playoffs and i also hope that chris mihm can as well. he will be huge for us in the post if he can return and play at least 20 mins off the bench.

if all the players are healthy, i assume that the 12 players selected for the playoff roster will be:

    andrew bynum
    kobe bryant
    pau gasol
    lamar odom
    derek fisher
    chris mihm
    ronny turiaf
    luke walton
    sasha vujacic
    trevor ariza
    jordan farmar
    vladimir radmanovic

now thats one talented and deep 12 man roster.

dj mbenga and coby karl can be our cheerleaders since they wont make the playoff roster cut, unless mihm or ariza cant return.

  30. Phant0M says:

    True..

Im excited but anxious to see if AB will be 100 Percent*.
But I Think He’ll Be Fine,

BRING BACK THE GOLD TO THE PURPLE AND GOLD BABBBAYYY.

    all but mihm are good

  33. T-Dub says:

Our PG position should be the only position we are outmatched in the west…and that shouldn’t effect the outcome of any series…we should be in the finals…

  34. karla says:

hey did u guys hear about gasol expected 2 miss both GS back 2 back!!!
