Bynum may not be ready until playoffs

Is this all speculation with Phil Jackson or is he playing mind games? Sound-off in the comments and tell us what you think.

L.A. Times: In the story that won’t have an ending until it finally ends, Lakers Coach Phil Jackson cast some doubt on a regular-season return for Andrew Bynum.

When asked if Bynum might miss the rest of the regular season, Jackson said, “Oh, sure, there’s a very good possibility.”

Bynum sounded a little more hopeful.

“At this point, I’m trying to get back a couple of games before [playoffs] just so I can get, like, a tune-up,” he said. “The last two games, that’s the closest I can get back. And I have a good chance of practicing right before the playoffs with my team, get a bunch of hard practices in.”

The Lakers’ last two regular-season games are April 13 against San Antonio and April 15 against Sacramento. Both are at Staples Center.

There have been many guesses about the exact date of Bynum’s return since he went down Jan. 13 against Memphis with a bone bruise in his left knee and a subluxation of his left kneecap — a brief dislocation that popped back into place.

Bynum needs to play now, even if only a few minutes each game… If not Bynum will be susceptible to the normal shock that comes from not playing for so long and will not be very effective in a hotly contested first round of the playoffs… He needs to knock as much of the so-called rust off, during these last 6 games, hence, he will be sharper, more effective, and ready for stiff competition in the first round… If the Lakers happen to lose, in the first round of the playoffs, without having all of their AVAILABLE guns at 100% affectivity… This would be a major disappointment in Lakerland, comparable to last years, Mavericks meltdown, if not worse… Lakerland might not ever be the same!

I think Phil is playing mind games. Andrew should be coming back by the time we get back from the three game road trip. It was projected that he would be back with about five games left in the season and we could use that time to get him and Pau used to each other.

i know man dirk only missed 4 freakin games what the hell…

Its because they are much more desperate to have them. They might not make the playoffs!!! They rushed him in if they clinched playoff berth like we have we wouldnt be seeing Dirk out there right now.

I am not worried, I am gonna stick to what was said before and see him out there during the road trip but not play until he actually gets back home and will get minutes the game after the road trip. No worries Phil is just messing with every other team while they are trying to figure out what is going on in LakerLand

How many times do you make bad predictions??? Too many to count. You have to change your name if Bynum does come back. Or if you really want to make lakernation happy ban yourself. We will even throw a party for that if necessary. LOL

it’s a ploy. Baby Bynum is alright.
