Ariza Update: CT scan reveals foot not healed

Lakers.com: Lakers forward Trevor Ariza had a CT scan this morning on his injured right foot that showed that the bone has still not healed completely.

Ariza continues to rehab with the Lakers training staff and has been cleared to increase his work on the team’s Alter-G treadmill from 70-80% of his body weight this week to 90% next week.

Trevor was injured in practice on January 20th when he landed awkwardly on teammate Derek Fisher’s foot and fractured the fourth metatarsal in his right foot.

our squad is good but, very beatable without drew or ariza. it’s definitely up to the likes of odom, vlad, sasha, farmar and fisher to step their games up to the next level to determine whether we wade with the kiddies at the shallow part of the pool or swim with the sharks at the deep end when it comes to the playoffs.

i don’t know about you guys but, i’m getting my tylenol supply stacked. it’s going to be a bumpy ride and the headaches are coming.

goooo lakkkeerrsss beat the hornets tonight!!!!

C’mon people, this was sooo expected. What bugs me even more is that Drew has been injured for months and still isnt back and dirk novitski’s injury looked worse and was back in a week. WTF IS GOING ON!!!! but I still have complete 100% confidence the Lakers can still win it all this year!!!

I couldn’t say it better than JCBIGLEWSORTH.

I swear this team is softer than warm butter, my mom is 60 years old and fractures her heel doesnt have close to the medical doctors and therapists like these professionals have obviously and in only a month and half they run a cat scan and her bone is completely, completely healed!!!!!

I dont know maybe this team is just snake bitten!!!!!!!!

    ugh…..

Lets just hope that no more injuries happen.

As far as tonight……I can’t believe ESPN2 picked up the Cavs/Bulls game instead of the Lakers/Hornets! Are they Nuts!

I’m telling you… The doctors and therapists are GARBAGE, this is just RIDICULOUS- This is pretty frustrating, I sure hope when Kobe gets his finger surgically repaired after the Olympics that he stays FAR away from any of these quack doctors!

dissapointing. cant believe these two guys are taking so long to recover from these injuries. probably just better to think that they wont come back this season at all and not read much into it. if they do come back then it will be a plus but much better to not expect it.

I agree this guys are taking way too long to get better from these injurys and Trevors was in practice. The Lakers must just have massive back luck these days.

  21. Gravatar Icon 21 Geloman

Kobe’s gonna have his finger surgery the same place he had his knee surgery in Colorado. He misses her.

  22. Gravatar Icon 22 Geloman

Trevor, see ya and Drew next season. Take care have a great offseason.

I think some of you non-medical people should stop commenting on things that you have no idea of and stop bashing the doctors.
A typical lower limb fracture can take up to 6 months to heal. It’s up to Bynum and Ariza’ bodies to heal themselves, not the medics.

Other than that, go the Lakers!!!

    Amen GT!

how could anyone compare drew’s injury to Dirks , Drew had a dislocated knee cap compared to Dirk’s mild knee and ankle sprain though I agree that the Laker medical staff sucks

What is this guy, a vegetarian? Sounds like something is seriously lacking in his diet.

Let’s not forget, these guys are professional ball players. Their entire career is at stake and if the proper measures are not taken, these injuries could haunt them in a couple of years. I think some of us are losing sight of our teams future and our ONLY focused on the Lakers winning it all THIS year. It’s unfortunate, but I’d rather see Drew and Trev come back 100% healed and ready to go!

    GO LAKERS!!!

Like KB told Bynum,”TAKE YOUR TIME,WE HAVE ENOUGH PIECES TO GET THE JOB DONE” (for years to come,I might add)!

    This point is arguable…

Yea we CAN keep the future in sight and keep in mind that we CAN win more championships down the line, but who’s to say some other injuries might or might not happen in that same future.

I mean WE have the opportunity to win this championship THIS year and become forever engraved in NBA history. Thats why Kobe is playing through his injury because he plays for the present.

Bynum i have a gut feeling he can play on that knee, but he’s thinking about his future with the lakers. Yeah i know, i sound like im talking smack, but thats the facts. Its the truth.

So for you to say to only focus on the present year…well to be honest as a professional sports player thats what you need to do if you want to be a champion.
