Yahoo! Sports: The Los Angeles Lakers began the season in chaos 5 1/2 months ago. They finished it as the Western Conference champions.
Pau Gasol had 22 points, leading MVP candidate Kobe Bryant added 20, and the Lakers beat the short-handed Sacramento Kings 124-101 Tuesday night to clinch the No. 1 seed in the West and home-court advantage throughout the conference playoffs.

How good does it feel Lakers Nation? A lot of people stuck by this team though what we would consider to be the “tough times” or the “post Shaq era”.
How sweet it is to be back on top. BUT enjoy it while for these next couple of days. Come this weekend, the real season is going to start. All this means nothing unless it leads to a parade on Figueroa.

We can beat any team out there, just gotta execute. That includes the Celtics. Kobe on Pierce, Gasol on KG, Odom on Ray. Then on top of that we have help for players since the other people on the celtics are garbage. We clog up their lanes, they clog up ours, but we’re a much better shooting team then they are.
