The Lakers Nation on PMS
If you missed it yesterday – The Lakers Nation was mentioned on AM570’s PMS (Petros and Money Show). Matt “Money” Smith (host of Lakers Line) had some interesting thoughts on the term “Nation” being used when referring to a community of sports fans. Do you agree with him?
We here at The Lakers Nation have taken his thoughts into consideration and you know what? He’s right! As of May 2008, TLN will buy an island, elect officials, establish its own currency and start charging its members (or “citizens”) taxes. All in an effort to make us an official Nation.
But I digress… Hopefully everyone at AM570 loves the Kobe/Gasol ‘08 stickers. Even though Petros said on air that he didn’t know what to do with the stickers… which is understandable since he’s not a Lakers fan, we caught him on the live video feed taking the sticker with him as he understandable left the studio.

I called in yesterday and they hung up on me as soon as I said I wanted to give props to TLN for the bumber stickers. I kept calling back but never got through. So I left this on the message boards today.
Petros: What do you want us to do with them?

Most of the guys on 570 are a joke. You would think a Laker radio station would have radio hosts who are Laker fans. You would think a Laker radio station would be supportive of Kobe (hater hartman).
It doesn’t bug me – I was opposed to the name – truth be told – until we decided on it as a poll. Now I love it. Besides, the fans voted on it. How can we go wrong? I think since it’s days as GetGarnett.com, we’ve accomplished a lot. Kam, Jim, Shane & I try to bring you the best we can as fans. I enjoy this website and am as proud of it as every video I create.
LakersNation – as voted on by the Lakers fans – lives on! And like Kam said, Petros took the sticker via webcam.
Kinda harsh calling the sticker gay since it’s just a light-hearted support of our boys. I still enjoy that show though. Petros & Money are pretty damn funny.
Someone needs to tell this “JACKA$$” about allegories and metaphores. I mean we all know we’re not an actual “NATION”, for crying out loud. We are aware of the mere fact that we live in the United States of American and we consider that as our NATION. Why is he wining about the title “Nation”? This guys is an idiot. I don’t really listen to that show, but I will from now on just to call him and tell him how I feel about his stupid comments.

LD2k, what we should do, is have a poll here on this site, and vote that the Loose Cannons should not allow those two clowns (Petros and Money) to come on there show and literally take over the show for atleast 30-45 minutes a day. I turn the radio off as soon as I hear Petros mouth. I see why Hartman told him he would kick his fuccing teeth in. Excuse the language. But we should do the poll and send it to them… more publicity for TLN:)

Who cares. We got our job done. The stickers are in good fun and we have gotten great feedback from the fans.
I personally love the PMS show and think Matt Money Smith does a SUPERB job with Lakers line. Rock on PMS, thanks for the honest opinion.
Petros and Money are my two favorite people in the entire world! And i wholeheartedly agree with their assertion that calling this website “The Lakers Nation” is asinine.

The “NATION” means LAKERS you know we all LAKERFANS! have something that joins us together and that’s that we are all laker fans that’s all one nation all together in a lakerworld. if you know what i mean the NATION meaning all kinds of people being ONE because we Like The Lakers
