We lost a ton of blog comments from the past week, today. There could have been a possible issue with the new comment format we switched to -- a reason why the site went down. We apologize for the downtime and problems. Hopefully everything is okay now.

Turiaf day to day due to tonsillitis

Turiaf DNP in game 2 and is still listed as day to day because of tonsillitis…

L.A. Times: Ronny Turiaf trudged toward the exit after another missed practice because of a tonsillitis.

“When’s the old Ronny going to come back?” assistant coach Kurt Rambis yelled out, his tone more hopeful than anything. Turiaf, known for his energy on the court and on the bench, will travel with the team to Denver and is still day to day.

UPDATE: Kleiza may NOT play at all in G3 due to elbow injury

Coach George Karl is now saying Kleiza may not play in game 3 at all.

Update: Nuggets coach George Karl said there’s a chance Kleiza, who took a nasty fall in Wednesday’s Game 2 against the Lakers and suffered a hyperextended right elbow, might not be able to play in today’s 3:30 p.m. game at the Pepsi Center.

“It was on film, and it was kind of ugly,” Karl said of Kleiza, who didn’t practice the past two days. “It’s very sore right now. I would think that there’s a possibility he won’t play. I think it’s a small chance because I know L.K.”

When Family becomes the Enemy

George Karl took his son out to dinner. Though, he could not look at his son the same way…

George said, “I’m having dinner with him, and I don’t see my son, I just see a Laker… he kept trash talking to me. So I picked up the tab and left.”

Save Bynum ’til next Season!

When Bynum went down we told ourselves, as long as he’s back for playoffs we will be fine.

Which was understandable and perfectly logical at the time, we needed Bynum to compete with the elite teams. But we didn’t know how good we would become without him in the lineup.

Fact is, this team is currently healthy and ready to go, to win a NBA championship. It should be considered a failure, if we do not win the Gold.

Having Bynum and Ariza back 100% would almost not be fair, too good to be true. Can you imagine?

The lineup we have been talking about since the trade. Andrew Bynum at Center, Pau Gasol at PF, and Lamar Odom at the small forward position.

Then we round of the starting 5 with the veteran savvy, Derek Fisher, and then at the 2 spot will be the best player in the league, the M.V.P. Kobe Bryant.

Kobe interview from this afternoon on AM570

Kobe was on AM570 and talked about Game 2, Los Angeles, and the Lakers!

Check it out here!

Iverson on Kobe, “He’s even better now.”

Unlike other of the Nugget players, Allen Iverson actually has breathed near the championship trophy. In 2001, Iverson, the league’s MVP that year, matched up against Kobe and the Lakers. Recently, Iverson commented on playing Kobe now, and playing Kobe then…

HoopsWorld: I asked him the difference between Kobe’s game back when he faced him in the NBA Finals in 2001 compared to now. He talked about the great team that Bryant has around him now but back then he said Kobe didn’t have to do as much with Shaquille O’Neal.

“He’s better than he was back then. He was great back then,” said Iverson. “He’s even better now.”

Kobe passes Jordan in post-season three pointers made

Well here is another milestone for 24 passing up 23.

Basketboltr.net: Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant last night scored 5 three points baskets against Denver Nuggets and became #12 on most three points made by any player of NBA play offs history. Kobe Bryant reached 151 three points baskets.

Kobe Bryant passed Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan has 148 NBA play offs career three points baskets.

Kobe’s message to J.R. Smith’s trash talk

I love Kobe!

“Better learn not to talk to me,” Bryant said of Smith’s jabbering. “You shake the tree, a leopard’s gonna fall out.”
