What’s gone wrong with Farmar? He’s afraid to shoot, he’s afraid to pass, he even seems afraid to dribble, as he picked up his dribble under no pressure on more than one occasion on Friday.
To a certain extent, Sasha had a terrible game too, and a little production from either of these two would have probably given us enough to come back against Utah but, as the phrase Lion King made famous goes, “you gotta put your behind in the past.”

Marquee Matchups -
Point Guard - Derek Fisher and Jordan Farmar vs. Deron Williams: So far, Derek Fisher has done his part, but Farmar has been a no show. With Deron stepping up on his home court, we NEED Farmar to take some pressure off of Fisher and to put some on Williams.
Advantage: Jazz.
Shooting Guard - Kobe Bryant vs. Ronnie Brewer: The Jazz showed that if you stop Gasol, you can let Kobe get his 30 and still win. The Jazz are about to find out what a mistake it is to awaken the Black Mamba. I expect noting less than 50 from Kobe, with Brewer, Boozer, and AK-47 fouling out (again).
Advantage: Lakers.
Small Forward – Vladimir Radmanovic vs. Andrei Kirilenko: So Vladdy shot well in the first quarter, and had that nice assist to Gasol, but you have to start wondering, if Walton isn’t the better choice for the starting lineup. If Vladdy can come off the bench and shoot corner three’s great! If not, well at least Kobe has more options to spread the floor with, and Walton will make the game easier for Gasol especially.
Advantage: Jazz.
Power Forward - Lamar Odom vs. Carlos Boozer: Lamar, if only you had some kind of consistent mid-range game! It’s amazing how effective he is even when the opposition knows he’s only going to shoot layups.
Now that Boozer has finally woken up, we’ll see what happens defensively, I’m guessing Phil might put Gasol on Boozer and make him shoot those mid-range jump shots. If he makes them then at least Gasol is avoiding foul trouble, and if he misses then Gasol has inside position on him. Hopefully Lamar can shut down Okur, as he should be fast enough to stick with the drive as well as tall enough to contest his shot.
Advantage: Jazz.
Center - Paul Gasol vs. Mehmet Okur: It’s funny, but I thought Okur had a foot on the line for every single 3-pointer he made… maybe it’s just me though.
Gasol shoots 60% from the floor and we know he did a bad job. He looked out of sorts on Friday. Hopefully, the other Lakers will look for him early in Game 4. (not just dump the ball into him, but get the ball to him where he can score easily.)
Advantage: Lakers
Bench -
Kyle Korver is the X-factor for the Jazz, but Paul Milsap is really annoying too. He didn’t do any major damage on Friday, but he’s a threat to do so.
Apparently, stopping Luke isn’t a priority for Jerry Sloan, as he’s put Harpring on Kobe. Luke will make him pay.
At some point, we have to wonder what we are paying Ira for. I would suggest bringing him off the bench for Luke, and making Vladdy earn his minutes but its too late in the year for drastic changes.
Advantage: Lakers, but only if Sasha hits some shots (or gets someone kicked out of the game).

Utah didnt even beat us in game 3, Lakers beat themselves with the turnovers and very poor execution. Kobe says it all the time, what wins games is EXECUTION. The team that executes better wins the game. Lakers didnt do that in game 3, they will in game 3.

i think it’s funny that Utah got the most free throw attempts they’ve had in the series in game 4 and the lakers got the least amount they’ve had in the series…
Also, i think it’s funny that ronny got a flagrant 2 on that hit, but there have been even worse foul calls in this postseason that have not been called so harsh.
i agree, lakers didn’t play well for the whole game… they could have easily won but they were careless at the end. BUT, i still think that when you’re in that hostile environment with those classless fans, the refs just start to call the game to favor the jazz. there were so many ticky tack fouls that were called on the lakers…but we never got any calls. it’s unfair when a game is so poorly officiated
also, what the hell is up with farmar? he just doesn’t look himself. he better show us why we love him on wednesday…
