As Laker fans, we should want to take on the best teams. I for one am glad we are facing the Spurs (Spurs are way better than NO). If we want to be the best, we have to beat the best. We should welcome this challenge!

The only way to prove ourselves is to beat the Spurs, even though a series with NO would be more exciting, to see Kobe and Paul go at it. Even if San Antonio has "Kobe-Stoppers", Kobe can adjust to any defense you throw at him, and Gasol's length gives Duncan trouble and San Antonio isnt the only team that has defenders that can stop the opposing teams top scorer, Lakers got Ariza and Kobe that can guard Ginobili.

I'd rather see the Spurs. Hornets scare me.

Either way, I bet both teams would give the Lakers a good 6-7 game series.

I can care less about how many rings tim dunacn has or if they are defending champ...i can repect the fact that they are the defending champs....but i am not going to say i dont want them because there they won the ring last season....i just dont rool with that...
if we play hornets we are not going to be able to stop West and peja and lets not forget about chandler ( offensive board machine ..) the fact the lakers got out rebouned by each team will even be a bigger deal...all in all give me spurs ...lol @ 81 tho...

Wow, you guys are making me nervous. You really want to play the Hornets in the Western Conference Finals? Do you not remember how they have been surprising everyone this year? They have the defending champs on the ropes, and the best point guard in the game. They are killer at home, a great defensive team, they play with a mean streak, lots of intensity, and they are EXPLOSIVE. I'm praying we don't see the team that scared us by coming back from 30 down in LA to make a game out of it. In that second half stretch, the Hornets dominated, exposed, and humiliated us to eliminate almost all of the huge lead we have accumulated.

The Spurs on the other hand, seem to be running out of steam a bit. They haven't played well in New Orleans at all this series, which is where game 7 will take place. They have poise, but New Orleans feels like they have something to prove. I just have a horrible gut feeling that we'll go into the next round feeling good about playing the Hornets, only to get dismantled and left saying "Wow, they're better then we thought". They've been doing it all season, there's no reason they won't continue their stellar play.
