First, lets talk about the Lakers first 30 minutes: Turnovers, missed layups, poor rebounding, lack of energy, and a 20 point deficit. Now, the last 16 minutes or so: Energy, good shots, aggressiveness, scoring, defense, passion, and a 24 point switch.
I don’t know about all of you, but as soon as Kobe drove and lobbed the ball to Gasol for the tip in, I knew it was a comeback in the making. Kobe looked determined. He looked energized, and the Lakers fed off it. When it was all said and done, defense decided this game.
The Lakers held the Spurs to only 13 points in the fourth quarter. I won’t bore you with the team stats, you can check those yourself, but collectively, it was a ton of missed shots. Bad offense or good defense? Probably a bit of both.
Now, the bests of the night….
Top 3 Laker Performers -
1) Kobe did what he needed to carry us tonight. Forget his point totals. 9 assists with only 1 turnover. We need more of that! Great game, Kobe.
2) Pau looked great as well. 9-16 shooting to go along with 19 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
3) Statistically, Vlad Rad had a good night, but I have to give number 3 to the Machine! Sasha had 10 points but played 31 minutes of solid defense on Ginobili. Manu was held to 3-13 shooting.
Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): I think Fisher did a lot of great things for us tonight, but since I have to give an STD, it has to be him with his 1-9 shooting night. Great D, though!
Play of the Game: Kobe’s jumper in the lane with 20 seconds remaining.
What to Look for Next Game: Look for better shooting from both teams. I expect the Lakers to continue to attack.

My bandwagon-@ss friend who didn’t like the Lakers a year ago started watching the Lakers again halfway through the season after we started winning; he says that Kobe deserved MVP & that’s he’s 1 of his favorite basketball players, but he’s a ballhog. My other friend who never watched the Lakers, started watching the past couple games because he started putting money on them… lol.

LO on the other hand looked like he smoked to many bowls before the game. missed layup after missed layup, dropping the rebound out of bounds… i sure hope he hasn’t reverted back to the “pre pau trade” LO…

I’m with you Sako…I can’t believe that Ariza’s still not cleared to play. We need his D. Second of all, even though we were down by 20, I never doubted that we’d win the game. I don’t know what the problem was…was it, let’s see what the spurs will do and then we’ll counter, was it, just not going out with the energy needed, or were we “too respectful” of the spurs? I hope that it’s not the latter. I hope now we see how we need to play…just go out there and take the damn thing already! Take it! It’s ours! The spurs are spooked now! They are officially done! How do you blow a 20 point lead in the third? They’ve no confidence in their game now. We got this!

I think it was nerves being that it was his first trip to the Conference Finals.
The spurs have an average ago of 93 years old, and the athleticism of a autistic wheel chair bound monkey. So I don’t understand why the lakers are having problems with them, from ginobli and parkers flops, to bowens dirty fouls (did any one else see him trip kobe?), and to tim duncan using his elbows to move defenders out of the way on his turn around J’s. The spurs are without a doubt the most boring team to watch in the NBA, this is proven by the simple fact that ratings dropped dramatically in their championship years. We should expect kobe to tear up their defense, which is highly over rated (teams score low amounts on them because they take the full 24 seconds to get off a shot due to their horrific athleticism). And don’t expect Lamar Odom to have another bad game, because all those missed lay ups he’s thinking about more than anyone else.
One last thing, can someone remove the Utah Jazz video. It’s good no doubt, but too much of a good thing is, well not such a good thing anymore.
GREAT COMEBACK LAKERS! I am so proud of this team. Theyed played like champions in the second half. But beware; the Spurs are still a dangerous team.

Lamar and fish just had bad games it happens. I was more impressed with phil jackson. He kept the bench in at important times and the gave sasha crunch minutes when vlad played well in the first quarter…and kobe was kobe thats expected. Im just glad phil made the right rotations tonight GOOD JOB PHIL!!!!

I have never seen a Spurs team give up a lead and a game like this. It tells me one thing. This Lakers team is ready! They didn’t lose their head, kept grinding away. I’ll give the Spurs 1 game! Fish and Odom will play better, and Kobe won’t take that long to get started again. Hello Finals!
That was phil’s game plan I believe obviously PAU can’t guard him 1 on 1 but he can do a better job then most so he let Duncan get his obviously he is gonna do that so that they wouldn’t have to double and give up the three point shots.
I skipped school on the game of D. Fish’s 0.4 shot. heh.
7 wins to go!!! Since Ariza would be a defender that would be put on Parker or Ginobilli it would be a chess move not to bring him out until we go to San Antonio. This way it will give the spurs a last minute matchup problem and no time to fix. All we need is one win on the road.

I am a BIG fan, I am not going to lie, I really thought we would lose. The guys saying these guys are on the bandwagon is not always true. We were dead crowd was horrible. No one could guess Kobe would go off, even though he is Kobe. I been a true fan since 96 right when we got Shaq. Pist when Kobe aired, happy with the back to back to back, cried Purple and Gold when lost to Spurs and even more with losses to Detroit, seeing our terrible situation with 05-07 but always there. I seen 80s moments and I might not have been there but I share those moments.
And yeah all these damn bandwagon kids jumping on. Now you see Kobe jerseys that no one ever wore, while I wore mine every year. Ask them all these Lakers trivia all they know is like the real main guys
