Fisher considered retiring before signing with Lakers

Next time one of those ignorant, hater-Jazz fans comes around and talks bad about Derek, they should read this. Fish considered retiring to be the more important figure - a father (as opposed to an NBA player).

SportsExcite: Fisher acknowledged he considered retirement before signing a three-year, $14 million contract with the Lakers, which represented a $7 million pay cut from his previous deal.

“For a while, I did ,” he said. “I wasn’t sure what was required for us as parents.”

When it became clear he could continue to play, Fisher was only too happy to have an opportunity with the Lakers.

Seattle has good doctors there and I think New York (I wonder if he’s leadership will spark those players there) does too. Glad he chose to come to LA.

Gotta love D-Fish man, doesn’t talk trash and doesn’t talk big, doesn’t talk ghetto, keeps it classy and professional, great guy to have on your team.
