Jackson won’t be fined

Daily News: league spokesperson said today that “no action” will be taken against Lakers coach Phil Jackson for the critical comments he made about the refereeing in Sunday’s Game 2.

The Celtics shot 38 free throws in Game 2, compared to the Lakers 10. In his postgame news conference, Jackson was highly critical of that disparity.

“I’m more struck at the fact that Leon Powe gets more foul shots than our whole team does in 14 minutes of play. That’s ridiculous,” Jackson said. “You can’t play from a deficit like that that we had in that half, 19 to 2 in the first half in situations like that. I’ve never seen a game like that in all these years I’ve coached in The Finals. Unbelievable.”

I was hoping that the refs would call it right down the wire. I can’t appreciate the league not allowing the emotion and adrenaline these players have. They are taking it all away.

… The the NBA gonna be like the WNBA?

The ref’s should just let them play. No ticky tac foul calls. It’s the freakin’ finals mang.

    Fine Phil? What for?
He was right on with his comments. Facts are facts.

If any fines are to be handed out it should be to those three corrupt A-HOLES that were masquerading as officials. They should have been wearing Celtic jerseys.

What a farce! The fix was in.

Tacit Agreement yes. As long as the lakers don’t go ice cold we should have the energy to take this game and get the momentum going.

Another thought… Phil didn’t directly criticize the officials. He never mentioned any official or that they did a bad job. He just complained their was a great foul disparity. We know he was complaining about the calls but if you wanted to say Phil wasn’t complaining about the refs you could say PHil was complaining about his teammates fouling or not going to the basket enough.

Why would he be fine? He is just stating a fact.
