I feel like absolute crap. We should be tied 2-2, instead, it looks all but over.
The Lakers played so well for 24 minutes tonight. We looked like one of the best teams ever. Then it all fell apart.
I don’t want to get too much into it, because it hurts too much to talk about.

Top 3 Laker Performers -
1) Lamar started out on fire going 7-7 and finished 8-12. He ended with 19 points, 10 boards, 4 assists. Too bad they all basically came in the first-half.
2) Ariza had 6 points on 2-2 shooting and had some big plays. Too bad he only played 8 minutes.
3) Fisher looked good tonight. 4-5 shooting. I wish he had more playing time tonight, especially in the fourth.
Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Easy! Sasha… 1-9 shooting and arguably the worst defensive play I have ever seen with about 15 seconds left.
Play of the Game: Sasha’s defensive lapse. Who knows what would have happened if he played any sort of defense that play.
What to Look for Next Game: Look for the Lakers to win. They don’t want to lose in 5. The Lakers have a chance to get back and make history themselves.

I know the Lakers have the better squad. However, tonight, the Lakers (EVERY PLAYER) showed that this team lacks the heart and desire to win it all. Boston clearly wanted it more. The Lakers didn’t. It as simple as that.

Well so far I have only seen “one” Laker who really really wants it…that’s KOBE. I don’t know about the rest of you all but that’s whom I have basically seen being aggresive, ready, willing, and play defense! The rest look either too scared, timid, confused,and unwilling. Lamar and gasol look scared and confused. Farmer and Vujajic (except for game 4) look timid and unwilling the rest of the Lakers from Fisher to everyone else. I guess Kobe and Phil are the only ones that won to win a 4th championship really really bad.

So far after every game be it a win or a loss the heart of every Laker fan will say that we’ll definately get the next one or we’ll still win it all. I have conceded and have thrown in the white towel. I now know what it feels like to experience a slow and painful death. In the end, the Lakers ripped my heart out and threw it on the ground doing the mexican hat dance around it and made me eat all my words I’ve said to every Laker Hater during these finals. I’m speechless! I have no excuses for this loss! I’m dumbfounded by what I just witnessed and am still in shock.
Without the help of Lamar Odom giving Gasol some easy buckets around the basket, he was just as effective in this series as Kwame Brown would have been. He definately shoots free throws like him. Our MVP was no where to be found when we needed him most in the 4th quarter of Game 4. The third quarter can be blamed for the lack of quality coaching and bad substitutions or lack there of along with bad shots and no defense. A timeout or two or three would have been nice to slow down the Celtics.
When the Lakers were up 3-1 to the Spurs everyone and there moms and their moms mom knew they were dead. After tonights loss, the Lakers have to win three in a row against the Celtics and two on their home court and you know how the first two games of this series went to win the Championship. If it happens I’d paint my face purple and gold for the rest of the year. Realistically, their dead fish in the water. Their on life support waiting for the plug to be pulled.
I still love this team and have never followed them so closely and this season has been a great one for me. I’m disappointed but realize we are very lucky to even be in the Finals when we weren’t even picked to make the playoffs at the start of the season. I very much look forward to next season and hope a few tinkering of the lineup will solidify us for the championship next season.
In conclusion, this website has been the best thing that has happened to every Laker Fan out there. I have been so addicted to it like crack cocaine. I want to thank the creators of the Lakersnation for keeping me so up to date with Laker news and I look forward to this again next season when the Lakers will win it all for sure!!!!!!

I’m sorry but to me the Lakers are like a dog that’s just been hit by a green car. And now the car is revving up to finish the job.
I know there’s still a chance, a very slim one at that. But all series long, the Lakers have found a way to lose. Even when they won game 3, it left me unconvinced because KG and Pierce had terrible games and they just squeeked by. It seems when KG, Allen and Pierce are on their game, they are just plain unbeatable.

We need another strong back up centre to help Bynum out, so we need to shop that in the draft during the offseason. If we can get Artest and bring him off the bench that helps us.

While they are annoying, the Lakers got away with so much tonight. If anyone else in the league besides maybe Lebron and Wade complained as much as Kobe they’d get tossed from every game. Sasha fouls everytime he attempts to play D. They got away with a lot tonight, the refs did everything they could to let the Lakers win but they (Pau & Odom) lost the game.

The reason why we lost was because we went away of what put us up in the first place. We RAN the ball up the court the first quarter. Boston could not keep up. Then we just coasted the rest of the way. Then we started playing half court crap and there you have it.

I cant help but to feel that the Lakers were robbed by the officiating in games 1n2! it was just so disgusting to watch how Kobes hand was almost pulled off of Kobe by Pierce towards the end of game 2 and there was no call made.That prety much sums up how heavily the officials were in favor of the Celtics.So far in the 2 games here the officiating has been only a little bit favoring the Lakers, so there for if i were Boston i would not feel proud of the way they have been winning.

after a big meltdown like that in the second half. this series will probably not go back to boston. when you beat the spirt out of a team like you break their back. although kb can go and get 1 more so maybe it does go back but this series is over. A team doesn’t go up 3 games to 1 on a fluke. We’ve played this team 6 times and barely won 1 with their top 2 players not showing up. This team scared me when they smacked us around the night we wore the shorty shorts. We were on a winning streak at the time. They are a better, stronger, quicker, more athletic team. The lakers bench lost this game. Farmar went 1 for 6, sasha went 1 for 9? Nobody on this bench showed up today, in-fact this bench has largely been a let down throughout the entire series. Mitch needs to stop handing out checks like the good will (chris mihm, vlad rad) Serious this is not the make a wish foundation.
man this is absolutely the worst i have EVER felt after a lakers game,i am literally SICK over this, its all i can think about, man it just sucks so bad KNOWING we should be tied 2 - 2 right now stayin home for another W and heading back to beantown up 3-2 possibly, it just sucks so bad. now i know wat pain the spurs were feeling when derek fisher hit the 0.4 shot. (although i was freakin out in joy at the time <–(how celtics fans are right now btw))
It’s not over. Didn’t you know it is the best 4 out of 7 not 3 out of five??? This was a team loss also, and should not be hung on any one person, but most of the responsibility should be hung on Phil and Kobe. How do you lose a Home game up by 24 in the finals. MJ would have never loss a game like that so all you dingleberries who think kobe is better than MJ think again.
That being said here a few of our slim hopes of making history and beating Boston.
1. Win Sunday… playing an entire game as a team and not just one half or qtr.
2. War of attrition… though we look beat Boston is physically beat with Rondo, perkins, pierce suffering injuries and the whole team basically over 30 might make recovery hard for game 6(if we win game 5). The longer we stay alive the better chance we have to be the last one Standing and the First to the Finish Line.
3. The Law of Averages… Plus isn’t God a Laker??? Purple and Gold are colors of his Kingdom….Not GREEN. Throughout Laker-Celtic History the majority of heartbreak losses have been to us. Weren’t the Red Sox expected to lose AGAIN to the Yankees when they were down 0-3 in the American League Playoffs a few years ago??? How did that series end up???
The day after and I am still seething, pissed off, and sad for yesterday’s disappointing loss. The Lakers just crumbled and wilted to the pressure in the 2nd half. Are you kidding me? After seizing a fantastic opportunity going into the 3rd quarter and you guys just give up?! Everyone, EVERYONE on the team is to blame…including Kobe and Phil. Ariza was doing such a fantastic job in the 1st half…why did you not play Ariza over the f*ckin Space Cadet?? Phil and the Lakers got too complacent, got outhustled, got muscled. Phil why didn’t you call timeouts and have them reset the offense and defense. They just settled for jumpers…F*CK stop the jump shooting and attack the F*CKIN rim. Once Boston started applying the pressure, everyone just seemed to rely on Kobe to break them out…Lamar, Pau, Fisher, Sasha (and the list goes on) all played the WORST DEFENSE…played like puuusssies, getting beaten to rebounds and loose balls. Sasha, Vlad, Farmar, Walton, Pau are so F*CKIN SOFTIES…it’s like they’re scared to get touched…they just leave lanes wide open. VLAD and WALTON HAVE TO GO. THEY MUST GO…THEY ARE LIABILITIES TO GIVE AWAY OPPORTUNITIES…ABSOLUTELY THEY ARE NOT ASSETS. We need players who are strong minded, have strong hearts, who are focused and determined, want to win, and won’t crack under pressure. GET RID of Vlad, Farmar, Walton, Lamar (who was a no show in the 2nd half…blew layups and fumbled balls) for Artest and Baron Davis. Lamar just can’t handle pressure. The Lamar experiment is OVER. If you think getting Bynum back will secure the Lakers championship next year…you are fooling yourself. UNF*CKIN believeable!!! Walton DOES NOT belong in the NBA. Vlad plays with no heart and no hustle. Farmar is not the PG of the future…he takes really dumb shots and can’t play D. AND KOBE U HAVE TO SHOULDER SOME BLAME FOR YOURSELF FOR TAKING SOME BAD SHOTS. PAU, STOP BEING A F*CKIN GIRL MAN! U ARE 7 FT. TALL. HIT THE WEIGHTS…PLAY SOME PICKUP GAMES HERE ON THE STREETS AND WE’LL MAKE U A REAL MAN. LEARN TO BLOCK OUT DAMNIT AND GO AFTER REBOUNDS INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR THEM TO COME TO U…U ARE FREAKIN POWER FORWARD/CENTER. Worst loss in the history of the NBA…unbelievable.
