TLN’s Finals Report: Lakers vs. Celtics [Game 6]

I’m kinda bummed right now and don’t want to write much.

Look at the box score if you want to know what happened. It is pretty self-explanatory. Lakers played without heart and without smarts and lost… big. The better team won the game.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Ronny was one of the few Lakers that didn’t turn the ball over or do anything stupid. He also got a rebound for us.

2 )I I dont really have a number 2 or 3 tonight…maybe Ariza? Or maybe Newble.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Hahaha! This is too hard… Kobe? Pau? Vlad? Luke? Phil? You pick.

Play of the Game: Fisher’s free-throws to give the Lakers a 2-0 lead in the first quarter.

What to Look for Next Game: Look for Bynum to dominate! Lakers will be looking as good as ever with Bynum, Gasol, Lamar, Kobe, and Fisher. And, if we are even luckier, Luke will be elsewhere. Game is a long ways away at 7:30 PM.

Now that the season is over, don’t forget to support the other L.A. teams! Angels, Dodgers (cough), Trojans, Bruins all have good looking teams! Tickets can be bought at Averytickets.com. Be sure to enter your special TLN discount which is TLN08.

Go Lakers!

Give it up to our team - one hell of a season… wow.

    Lakers Forever!!!!!

  3. Gravatar Icon 3 JV

The ways the season looked, we should all be happy it turned out like this. When we first started the season we weren’t even sure if Kob would be with us, then we lucked out and got one of the best trades in history, then to the finals.

Look forward to next year, it should be a great one!!!!

You’ve just won a hard fought game 5.
You have a 10am flight the next morning out of LAX to Boston where you have to win the next two games to bring the title back to LA.

What do you do after the game to get ready for this huge challenge? Get some extra rest? Maybe watch some video of the last game to see how you could improve your game?

Well it was reported yesterday on AM570 on the Joe McDonnell show that following the game after midnight Lamar was arriving at a nightclub in LA for an evening out on the town!

Way to put the needs of the team before your own self gratification Lamar!

Is there any wonder why now why this guy continually lays an egg out on the floor?

As was stated on the radio, the fans of LA want this championship more than Lamar does. This guy does not have the dedication, heart, or determination necessary to be a big time player in this league. Going through the motions is simply not going to get it done.

This is yet a further example of why we need to pull the plug on the Lamar experiment and cut our losses. It should be beyond clear now that this guy just doesn’t get it! We need someone heart, someone with the character, intelligence, basketball IQ, consistency, mental toughness, dedication, and determination worthy of a champion. Clearly this is not what we have with this half-brain.

true lakers fans out their would thanks for a great season. even if we came up short, we still enjoyed a very successful season. kobe not getting traded and going to the NBA FINALS. who would have thought that?

always a fan… DO or DIE (ive been saying this ever since i saw fisher cried on national tv against the spurs in 2003)

  6. Gravatar Icon 6 Smush Walton

OK Mitch - WAKE UP CALL!

I don’t want to hear this sh!t thay you are “happy with your roster”.

Time to get off your a$$, unload our garbage, and add some talent.

    Disappointing Loss./Series

    AMAZING Season Though.

Coming from a team with 2 straight 1st Rd. exits

To 2 Wins away from NBA Champs.

    Look forward to next year.

Make Changes. Not Too Much. [ARTEST, Bynum, Get rid of non-needed players]

    HERE’S TO 08 AND BEYOND!

As far as I remember, people were telling me that our LAKERS wouldn’t make it past the second round! NOW LOOK AT WHERE WE ENDED UP! We should be proud of our LAKERS. They had one of the most unbelievable seasons ever first starting with Kobe demanding a trade, Bynum emerging as one if the up and coming Centers of all time, then the Pau Gasol trade! We should not be discouraged by this loss but take away all the positives that we have had this entire season! Next time we’ll get em’.

P.s. THIS FINALS SHOWED WHAT WE LACK AS A TEAM! WE NEED A DEFENSIVE-MINDED SF, who can also score the ball! *cough cough, RON ARTEST!
COME TO LA LA LAND RON RON! HELP US BRING A SHIP NEXT YEAR!!!

2 wins away froma title? Actually 4 losses away. I’m not sure what to think. I’m completely bummed by getting embarassed. This is a bad feeling - like 2004. I just don’t get how we can collapse like this. It hurts.

  11. Gravatar Icon 11 kapadona

realistically speaking how do we land artest or posey or someone of their talent…are they gonna be free agents…why would anyone deal them for our garbage? Im too lazy to look up their contracts, but does anyone know how we get them during the offseason?

  12. Gravatar Icon 12 Yeyeye

This season started out really bad but in turned out pretty well. Getting to the Finals wasn’t something you would have expected early this season. All in all, it was indeed a great year although it could’ve ended much better (I feel our team could’ve played harder). There’s more work to do to get ready next season… no point crying now. Boston fought hard and congratulations on their championship. See you next season!

  13. Gravatar Icon 13 lakerschamps08

YES GREAT SEASON BUT WE SHOULDA HAD A DIFFERENT END… SO YEA GREAT SEASON AND ALL THAT BUT STILL WE NOT CHAMPS..KOBE IS NOT HAPPY AND NOR CAN WE BE HAPPY UNTIL WE ARE THE CHAMPS.. AND WE SHOULD PROLLY SEE THEM AGAIN JUST SO THAT WE HAVE THAT SLOGAN PAYBACKS A BIT CH!!!!!!!
    GO LAKERS….

  14. Gravatar Icon 14 kapadona

i think we as the fans take these losses tougher than the players…i cant believe odom went clubin!! argh!! I revolve my whole life around the lakers. Odom is unworthy of my devotion. Im soo disappointed, i hate he he always looks so goofy during his free throws and chuckling and winking…he has absolutely no heart.

  15. Gravatar Icon 15 Lakers 24 7

Good season man, very good season, Ima miss the Lake Show over the summer, time to make some changes, get some damn defenders, get both Posey and Artest for all I care, our defense sucks. We don’t need offense, we got enough scorers, we can get our offense anytime we want, we need DEFENSE!

    See yall next season

tears of pain now, only bring MORE tears of JOY later. dont worry laker buddies. this is a learning expierence we need to take and bring with us for the seasons to come. BUT WHO THE FUCC WROTE THAT ARTICE “LAKER : 2008 NBA CHAMPIONS”? whoever it is we need to find him and KILL HIM!!…… verbally!!!!

  18. Gravatar Icon 18 YoLakers

Hopefully this builds character for all the players on the team. Not sure what’s needed to get to the top, it’s too depressing right now. Looking forward to next season!

  19. Gravatar Icon 19 kb24 4life

    yeahh…
everybody i think gave us a hell of a season and next year.. sould be fun with drew and hopefully artest..being realistic he can be a laker next year

look out boston, we aint letting you repeat..

  20. Gravatar Icon 20 Smush Walton

A finals record 18 steals by Boston tonight. I don’t see Bynum doing much abou that. Time to shovel out the barn and get some people with talent. What is Smush Waltoon doing on the floor. This guy is a piece of sh!t. And Vlad Rad - another rag. Lamar - a half brain - pull the plug on this 4 year experiment. Use the guy as trade bait. We’ve seen his act for three years and his “best” years are behind him.

  21. Gravatar Icon 21 Acgod15

Disappointment, lakers played with no heart. it just hurts to see them go down like that, or to put themselves in that position. It really makes me wonder what Phil or Kobe or whoever said during timeouts, pregames, halftimes etc. like really, what could have they said to make them play so bad? the only players who didnt play bad for the lakers were the ones who didnt play.

for next year, cant wait for bynum. hopefully Vujacic doesnt opt out of his contract. hopefully Luke gets dealt for anybody, and i mean ANYBODY! Rebounding, Hustle, Work ethic, Shot blocking, defense and heart need to be fixed for next year. if not, they have no chance. maybe they need to throw in the fishing line and see what they can do to get better? artest sounds good, but who knows.

very good year, Laker fan all my life. lets prepare for next season. no bandwagon on me. time to get after it!

ps. my friend is getting a lot of sh*t cuz he bragged about them winning. good thing i didnt =p

  22. Gravatar Icon 22 ab17

    great season
    so sad….=[

  23. Gravatar Icon 23 Machinehead18

Well, this is sad but we had an absolutely amazing and unexpected season. I would just like to thank all of you Laker fans for giving me something to look up to, even when we were down in games. I would also like to think the runners of the lakersnation website, on behalf of all Laker fans, for giving us a website where we can talk to other Laker fans and get the latest news on the Lakers.

Thank You so much for such a great season guys and I know for sure, we will get it done for many years to come.

  24. Gravatar Icon 24 mr.laker19

Its time to stretch and flip and re-up. 2 is not a winner. We are in the same boat as the miami heat as far as im concerned. Its the champs, and then everybody else. We need change now more then ever. We need a player to change our culture. We need Artest. He has the personality and the game we need at this time. Him along with Bynum patroling and controling the paint and hopefully Luke and or Vlad gone, LAKERS CHAMPS 09′

  25. Gravatar Icon 25 lakerstime

Thank you lakers fora great season, lets come back stronger next season, lets go farther than what we did this year, bynum in 08-09, lakers unstoppable

  26. Gravatar Icon 26 THE WISE KOBE

the young guys got the experience they needed, and its plain and simple, the lakers r going 2 win the 08-09 title!!! MAN IM SOOO PUMPED 4 NEXT SEASON ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. Gravatar Icon 27 Michael_23

I was scared when I was watching the post game interview of kobe when someone asked, “what do you think of the prospects?” and he said “I don’t know”

Kind of like “Do something, and do it now”

But no, the Lakers were good all year long even when facing injuries, Kwame Brown, and a beginning of uncertainy when the season began.

I accepted today’s defeat, but it was game 4 that really put my head down and lose a bit of faith. I was there at the game and all I could do was sit there after the game was over. Let this series be a lesson to all of us that the Lakers are young and have to learn to come back with a vengence.

hahahahahahahahahahahaha good one did you come up with that yourself??? OMG that was HILARIOUS!!!! What did I want him to write? Maybe more than 4 sentences about the game, put 3 players under the 3 best, and pick a STD. Just like all the others games. Congrats for the Lakers for such an amazing season.

Unfortunately, this same great team did not show up at the finals.

The Celtics well deserved the title. They did play better and want way more than our squad.

It’s a great learning experience for the young guys and at the same time WE learn a lot about some of the players and the coaching staff.

I give credit to PJ for making this such an extraordinary team during the season and playoffs and at the same time I discredit him for the horrible coaching job at the finals. Something to think about.

Some things for sure we learned:

    Vlad and Luke MUST GO!

Lamar is on the verge. He is so inconsistent and he do not have the will and a heart of a champion. Specially going to clubs after the last game. If next season he plays only out of the bench. Then ok. But he makes too much money for that. Maybe he must go and become trade bait.

Pau needs to hit the gym and pack up muscle over the summer. He really needs it to be more physical.

We need couple seasoned veterans and D players. Artest anyone?

    We miss Bynum big time.

Kobe became a true leader, but the team did not follow him at the finals.

Now for the Lakers fans that sing victory ahead of the time. Next time be faithful but at the same time have patience. Too many folks here were singing victory way ahead of the time and chanting parade at Figueroa. Maybe it will happen next season. But let’s wait until we win four games at the finals. If not we might get jinx again.

    Go Lakers!

  32. Gravatar Icon 32 Rpoc

This fraking burns especially as it is to the Celtics. Nonetheless this team came further than expected.

It’s unfortunate they had to roll over and die like that in Game 6.

That said, there needs to be a culture change. There’s a clear need for defensive minded players. On the 3-peat you had guys like Harper, Fox, Horry, Grant, etc. Tough guys. Phil never did preach defense but these guys knew how to play defense on their own.

Bynum coming back is a start.

Secondly, ARTEST. Do it Mitch. Wave that magic wand.

hey LD2K, i think you should make a video highlighting the lakers 2008 season / preview for next season. you should try the song “puddle of mudd - blurry” the lyrics can fit perfectly, with a creative imagination. this is just a suggestion.

  34. Gravatar Icon 34 Michael_23

We have an answer in shutting down one offensive guy. But when there’s a BIG 3 and possibly more like Rondo, Leon Powe, James Posey, it’s tough.

  35. Gravatar Icon 35 lakers

Go from getgarnett to acquire artest. Artest has an option and will probably opt out and sign for the MLE. The only player that has value in trading is odom because of his big expiring contract. Go lakers!

eat! sh#T FAKERS… celtic dynasty is about to begin! first year of being together and already were champions!

  37. Gravatar Icon 37 Ryan Bowie

word up to the last comment. word up son!

we were definitely missing a defensive presence in the finals. a DEFENSIVE presence. bynum and artest will fix that. if kupchak has any brains he will sign artest this summer… any chance that he saw artest interview kobe?

    starting 5 next year:

    PG Fish
    SG Kobe
    SF Artest
    PF Gasol
    C Bynum
    NBA Champs 2009

  38. Gravatar Icon 38 e

    we failed this season
but great turnaround from square one

i rmbr how we all were last summer
we’ve come a long way from it..now what to look for this off season..get rid of the trash (aka vlad rad, mihm)..i would love to go after artest during the offseason..he brings what we need in a sf..defense..he’ll be able to guard the lebrons and pierces…something to look forward to =)

  39. Gravatar Icon 39 Farmars_inner_Jordan

Thank you Lakers for a wonderful season! Albeit the blow out loss, I watched till the buzzer sounded. A little heart-broken, I cheered and applauded all those nice shots in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Next season will be different!! We still get to watch Kobe in action in Beijing, along with a stellar line-up. It won’t be the same as seeing the Lakers play, but it will do for the time being.

joseph, stop posting on TLN, go back to your bandwagon site. I heard the parade consists of all the smelltics masturbating into chowda and distributing it to the fans. dig in!!

TLN, thank you for the web site and all the beautiful work everyone has done! It is a fan site for true fans. We will be back, stronger than ever.. playing as a team!! Smelltics will swallow their own (insert noun here), and have doc rivers immediately fired.

  40. Gravatar Icon 40 Daryl Imhoff

We are a young team that was in over its head in the finals. I have to admit that we need to tweak the roster. Ron Artest is a friend of Lamar and Kobe. If he would consider opting out and signing for the mid level exemption the Lakers need to seriously consider this move. Artest said he 99% sure he will stay in Sacramento, but if Lamar and
Kobe talk to him and Laker management commits to signing him this would
solidify the Laker roster for next season. Considering where we were in October,’07 and where we ended up and where the Lakers can go from here this has been a wonderful ride that ended two wins too soon! Bynum and Artest can get those two wins.

  43. Gravatar Icon 43 Matthew

WE NEED ARTEST AND THIS SERIES SHOWED IT

  44. Gravatar Icon 44 Michael_23

I am so looking forward to talking about free agency, trades, and acquisitions in the next couple weeks.

But not tonight … Just gotta suck it up.

And guys, Artest can come if he opts out and accepts 5.4 mil +. I think that’s easier than getting rid of one of guys via trade.

But we’ll have so much small forwards it’ll conflict.

Vlad Rad, Luke, Trevor, Newble, and Odom. What do you think will happen. And ca mon be realistic. Do we trade a one or some of our SF to make room for Artest?

Rad and Luke show up only twice a month this season. Very inconsistent. LO has shown up after January.

  45. Gravatar Icon 45 Michael_23

My grades for the season: (Many of my grades, reflect January and on because that’s when the Lakers really turned it up)

    Kobe = A+ - MVP = A+
    Pau = A-
    LO = = B+
    D Fish = A
Sasha = A (good sixth man)
    Vlad = D
    Luke = D-
    Farmar = B
Ariza = A- (Before he got hurt, wont judge his time in playoffs, unfair)
    Mbenga = B
    Turiuf = B+
    Bynum = A

Newble = wont grade (not given much opportunity to show)
    C. Mihm = C
Coby Karl = wont grade (not given much opporunity to show)

    Kwame = F!

  46. Gravatar Icon 46 yash

F.U.C.K celts. They won cuz of their D and their three ALLSTARS. Not 1 not 2 but THREE ALLSTARS. Thats just plain not fair.
    1. Pierce - plays his heart out. can be a legit MVP.
    2. Garnett - What more do you have to say about him.
    3. Ray Ray - Best shooter in the NBA.

  47. Gravatar Icon 47 jay

This just shows the NBA hates KOBE and OUR LAKERS. this series was lob-sided all 6 games. What can you do. more agressive fouling players means “defense” to the league so i say keep your heads up cuz the next years to come are gonna be filled with glory. not to take away from ray allen or the others but i really think only KG anf Pierce deserved the ring………….. F*CK A CEltic.

  48. Gravatar Icon 48 jay

Also Phil needs A defensive SF like Artest. then we are complete. like RODMAN did all the dirty work we need another WORM on our team.

  49. Gravatar Icon 49 Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

No.1 … I do not want Posey on the Lakers next Year; I want the Lakers to kick his overrated “Van Gundy Ass”, back to Boston… Wishfully, Jeff Van Gundy along with Jon Barry will join the Boston Celtics next year… These two goons are complete Anti-Lakers… This will complete the Lakers revenge and make it that much sweeter! No.2 … VladRads MATADOR DEFENSE has to either go to the bench, permanently, or get altogether out of here… All he can do is shoot Wide-Open-Treys (THIS IS ALL HE CAN DO!)… When he is not on (and this is often), he becomes a complete and total liability for the team. (This guy makes Smush Parker’s defense look like 1st team all defensive). No.3 … As for Walton, well, the guy plays in slow-motion… Need I say more? No.4 … Phil Jackson’s insistence in playing these 2 guys, major minutes, at critical times, against these Celtics, is the MAIN reason, together with the imbalanced officiating for most of the Series, the Lakers squandered this opportunity. … Jackson is a polarizing figure, with all the accolades, and all that crap, but unlike Doc Rivers or other young-up-and-coming-hungry-for-blood type coach, he is too laid back and un-aggressive at this point of his career… He needs to get his ass in major gear when it comes to coaching intensity… He just doesn’t have it right now! … Much like Pat Riley, his zest (Intensity) for qualifying-championship-required-coaching-zeal, may have passed and gone by the wayside. … I wish to god, I would be 100% wrong about my assessment of Jackson, but at this time, I truly feel 100%. Right on.

  50. Gravatar Icon 50 Michael_23
  51. Gravatar Icon 51 Oh Boy Johnson

Jeez this sucked! We need to a new roster! Phil has to get his lazy ass up and coach, this team isnt the Bulls or the 00′ Lakers!

  52. Gravatar Icon 52 LETSGOLAKERSLETSGO!

IT WOULD’VE HELPED IF WE HAD A BETTER FANBASE AND CROWD WHEN WE WERE PLAYING AT HOME. LOOK AT HOW LOUD THOSE GAMES WERE IN THE GARDEN. STAPLES CENTER IS WEAK! THE LAKERS DON’T EVEN GET PUMPED OUT BY THEIR FANS LIKE THE CELTICS DO. SERIOUSLY THO, I HAVEN’T SEEN A WORST CROWD IN A FINALS GAME THAN I HAVE WITNESSED IN THIS SERIES. ITS ABSURD … OBVIOUSLY THAT IS NOT THE REASON WHY WE LOST BUT THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THERE ARE A LOT OF PHONIES AND BALONIES COMING OUT TO WATCH THESE GAMES. RICH OLD BAGS THAT HAVE NO REASON TO. STAPLES SHOULD REALLY GIVE OUT FREE TICKETS TO TRUE DIEHARD FANS AND THAT REQUIRED TO YELL AND CHEER AT A MAXIMUM DECIBEL.

ON TO BASKETBALL, WE REALLY NEED TO GET RID OF GASOL. I KNOW MANY WILL DISAGREE AND SAY THAT ODOM SHOULD BE TRADED BUT GASOL IS THE TRUE TRADEABLE ASSET. AS GOOD AS HE WAS EARLY ON IN THE SEASON, IT IS OBVIOUS THAT HE IS SOFT AND NOT RELIABLE IN CRITICAL SITUATIONS. DID YOU SEE HIS WEAK POST MOVES IN THIS SERIES? HE DOES THIS SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND GETS STRIPPED SO MANY TIMES. DON’T GET ME WRONG, TO ACQUIRE HIM FOR KWAME WAS A STEAL BUT WE ALREADY HAVE BYNUM. WHAT WE NEED IS A TRUE POWER FORWARD, WITH GREAT INSIDE PRESENCE. NOT SOME SOFTY 7′1 EURO. WE SHOULD USE GASOL TO ACQUIRE A TRUE YOUNG CENTER THAT CAN ALSO PLAY PF AT TIMES, SOMEONE LIKE STEVEN HUNGER.

AND LASTLY, I SAY WE HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO GET ELTON BRAND.

TRADE ALL THE OTHER EURO/NON-BLACK PLAYERS EXCEPT FOR SASHA VUJACIC.
ALSO, TRY TO GET SASHA PAVLOVIC FROM THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS. HE WILL BE A VALUABLE BACKUP FOR KOBE BRYANT’S SG POSITION.

    FISHER/FARMAR
    KOBE/SASHA PAVLOVIC/VUJACIC
    ODOM/ARIZA/NEWBLE
    BRAND/RONNY
    BYNUM/STEVEN HUNTER

  53. Gravatar Icon 53 Big Nick

P(ill)au Gasoft is as soft as a pillow! He obviously cannot hang with bigs like Tim Duncan and KG. Next year, when Bynum is back, the lane will be too clogged with both of them occupying space. In addition, Odom will not have his lanes to drive to the basket because both Bynum and Gasol, with their defenders, will fill up all the driving lanes. That will leave Odom as a jump shooter, which he is definitely not. Teams will play off of him and either double kobe or just have Odom’s defender doubling the Gasol and Bynum in the post. We must trade Gasol, the weakest and most unclutch player, for a true tough guy like artest! Artest would be the answer to all our toughness and defensive problems, and he would fit perfectly with the lakers. Our starting lineup would be fish, kobe, artest, odom, and bynum!!! ARTEST ARTEST ARTEST!!!

Wow, what a loss. Time for a little breather, re-tool, then they can come back stronger than ever next year. Revenge is gonna be sweet. I didn’t know that LO went out clubbing, if true, then i’m pretty disappointed he didn’t put his all into this game 6. Thanks for not letting them win it on our floor at STAPLES.

we had a great season, in november last year nobody woud `ve tough we would be in the finals (except for us then)
LEts beat the Bulls record next year. Kobe n Bynum will dominate. Maybe we`ll get artest and we have the best D in the world.

for now i`m looking forward to the olympics.

    and GO SPARKS

for those of you saying that pau should be traded:

wtf are you talking about, w/o this guy we wouldn´t have even gotten to the playoffs..

plus, he has only played with this team 4 months, give the guy a break, c´mon, let him aclimate to the city and the team, i know he didnt played well,, and that the expectations on him were much higher than that but he just showed what everybody except for kobe and fish did,,,,, FEAR!!!! they looked scared and very nervous out there…

i agree we should get artest, but not trading pau,

in other aspect, i agree that those of you who had the chance to go to the games in the finals at staples, weren´t loud enough, we as fans should support our team getting them pumped up…

cant wait till ocober,, sweet reveange, sweet……

If Farmar, Sasha, and Bynum work as hard this summer as they did last, then that will do ALOT for this team.
If Ariza does the same, then lookout world.
If Lamar…argh…if Lamar…ah, f-it. Lamar, just when it looked like you were playing on a higher level, you go back to just playing high. WTF?!? I’m starting to think no matter what Lamar does for his game, he doesn’t have the eye of the tiger. I won’t be disappointed one bit if he gets traded. But if not, he better work the hell out of his jumper and go join a fight club or something!
Fluke Walton, we could watch the game at 2x speed and you still be moving in slow motion. Ba-bye.

its been a wonderful season!F*ck those guys critisizing us too much especially about kobe! without kb24 and pau we wouldn’t be here! we got to get rid of some trash (i mean sh*t) bye bye luke.. vlad.. mihm! go get some reliable D players! go get artest! and let see if this f*cking celts could defend their ring next year! —- too many Filipinos here were disappointed by the lakers performance.. but who cares! I WILL LIVE AND DIE WITH THE LAKERS!

How do we fans bring it to the Lakers’ (front office?) attention that they need to ask Kobe and Lamar to call their buddy Ron Artest and plead with him to opt out, take a pay cut for a few years and play here in LA for championships? Artest plus a healthy Bynum and one more tough veteran who knows what it takes to win minus Luke and/or Vlad and the Celtics won’t ever beat us again

CONGRATS TO OUR LAKERS ON A GREAT SEASON. EXPECTATIONS WERE EXCEEDED. WE’RE YOUNG & WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR!

  63. Gravatar Icon 63 Odom the worst player

I hope now people can see what I said earlier about Odom. It’s time to trade this guy. He WON”T play defense, he can’t make clutch shots, he doesn’t have the fire in his eye to win a title. Back to his defense or lack there of. He doesn’t even try to block a shot, and all he does is hold his hands in the air and look stupid. I for one am tired of this guy. Just because he is 6′10 and can dribble the ball up court doesn’t mean he can play. When he goes to the line he misses at least one of his free throws everytime, and laughs about it. When you’re trailing there should be nothing funny. Aside from that I say that we package up Lamar Odom, Luke Walton Vladmir Radmonovic and Chris Mihm and send them to Taiwain get those idiots out of here none of those idiots I listed can guard my grandmother on defense they just get burned every time they might as well just stay at their side of the court make things go faster that way. Also the only time these stupid overpaid space cadets can make anything is simple easy garbage shots and they even struggle to make those, when it comes to big/clutch shots those guys could not hit water if they were in a boat. These players should be ashamed to face the rest of their teammates. I had no idea that we had so many players with the first name Smush, Smush Odom, Smush Walton, Smush Mihm and Smush Radmonovic. We really need to get a good solid point guard Fisher is not bad dont get me wrong but he is not really starting material he would be great as a backup though.

Hey Smush Walton. Good luck finding a guy that’s young and talented that is not going to go out to night clubs whenever he wants. Lamar has more heart than most players in the NBA.

The only guy that I think has to go for sure is Vladimir Radmonic. He is absolutely worthless. There is only room for one Vlade on my teams, and I don’t think Big Daddy Vlade Guerrero is going anywhere. So bye bye Rad Vlad.

The Lakers really don’t have to change anything. The addition of Bynum is going to make us BY FAR the best team in the NBA. We will destroy everyone in our paths. The only thing I think they should tweek is maybe getting rid of Luke, and Rad. Then adding another defender. Maybe they can try and persuade Elton Brand or Ron Artest to come play with them. I don’t know. What I do know is that if the Lakers had Andrew Bynum in this series, they would have won in 4 or 5.

Lakers played no defence against Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. All they had to do were driving into the lane and one of the following would happen:

    1. Score themselves
    2. Draw a foul and shoot free throws
    3. Kick the ball out to a wide open player (every damn time!) and that guy would make an uncontested 3.

I am suprised that we didn’t start Ariza in the place of Radmanovic. I agree with everyone who said Walton and Radmanovic are useless, both offensively and defensively. Radmanovic picked up fouls faster than a rocket. Walton could not make a shot for his life, even when he was wide open.

I am not sure who exactly we should go for, but there are 3 types of players whom we need:

    1. A bit time rebounder - how many times have we seen Boston getting 2~3 offensive rebounds in a roll? That was such an embarrasment

    2. A good perimeter defender besides Kobe. Outside of Kobe, no one has shown anything close to slowing Pierce driving into the lane.

    3. A slasher - We need someone BESIDES KOBE who can slash and drive into the lane and either score or drawing fouls. Pierce and Allen were constantly killing us with that move.

We should just work on defense next season!!! Gasol better beef up or I’m moving..
