L.A. Times: This just in: Kobe Bryant makes U.S. Olympic team!
In a foregone conclusion announced today, Bryant was officially named to the U.S. men’s basketball team along with fellow foregone conclusions LeBron James, Jason Kidd, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Michael Redd and Dwight Howard.
Also named to the team, but not locks beforehand, were Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, Tayshaun Prince and Deron Williams.
Of the 12 players, all but Paul, Wade, Bosh and Boozer were on the 2007 U.S. team that rolled through the qualifying round in the Tournament of the Americas in Las Vegas.

Dude I can’t believe how we lost in the last Olympics.. we have the sickest players around.
We better come out with the gold, we’re the best. They shouldn’t play around and don’t even give them chances. The USA is the best.

They didn’t have Kobe before. That’s why they lost. All those players in ‘04 were so freakin too young except for AI and Tim Duncan. Now you got J Kidd, Kobe Bryant, and other people who have been in the league for at least 4 years.
USA should be ok. It wont be easy at the end of the tournament tho when we face teams of Pau Gasol, Manu, and AK 47.
Today’s NBA basketball is about individuals, World Bball is about team . . . team always beats an individual.
Now that they have been embarrassed twice - Olympics and Worlds - perhpas they will set aside their egos and bring back what is rightfully ours!!!!
