I’ve been eager to find anything linking the Lakers and James Posey in the same article. Now, ironically enough, the Boston Herald mentions the teams interested in picking up Posey. Makes me dizzy, but hey, at least there is a report of us putting an offer together for him:
Herald: The Celtics forward reportedly is looking for a midlevel deal that starts at approximately $5.8 million and carries over 4-5 years. Posey’s hometown Cleveland Cavaliers are said to be putting together an offer, in addition to the Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets.

How lame, you’re going to blame Mitch for not siging Posey!! That’s one of the dumbest things I’ve heard. Hate to break it to you, but even Pat Riley wanted nothing to do with Posey, even after Posey won his title with the Heat.
By the way genious, the Lakers were interested in him last year, however the Lakers used some of their MLE on Derek Fisher, so that took them out of the running for Posey.

And here I thought you were a Laker fan. Don’t you remember Rick Fox, a member of our 3 world championship teams, played for the Celtics (Boston suck-a-d*cks, as I like to call them) before he was traded to the Lakers.
I’m thinking he would more than likely stay with the Celtics, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Posey here. He’s almost, in SOME ways, a young version of ‘Robert Horry’. He’s long, plays some good D, and shoots from downtown. So we’ll see what happens.

The Lakers need to pass. They already have a big logjam at SF. If they were to get Posey they would have Vladi, Luke, Ariza, and Posey. They couldn’t find enough playing time last year, and adding another player? Im pretty sure he’s too slow to play SG and too small to play PF.
