It all hinges on Brand. If he signs with the Clippers then the Warriors will pursue Maggette and Maggette wants more than the mid level exception if he can get it. If Maggette gets more than the MLE, and I mean $10 million, then those teams with only the mid level exception will be willing to offer that exception to guys like Posey. Brand is the lead domino once he falls everyone else will follow. However, if the Lakers were willing to aggressively pursue Posey now with a MLE for 5 years they mignt be able to get him to commit.
