However, Posey’s agent claims there is “nothing new” regarding Posey:

now there is no one really worth signing now that they have all chosen a team. the big names are all taken, now what?
its all about trades now between any team. i really wish the lakers can get artest w/o having to give up odom. both players possess qualities that the other doesnt, however, the lakers need all of them.
artest = strength, tenacity, shooting, defense, toughness, slashing/attacking hoop constantly.
odom = ball handling, height advantage, versatility, passing, rebounding, offensive facilitator.
the only thing the lakers can really do is trade for artest now and it doesnt seem like likely it will happen because they dont want to give up odom. its a hard pill to swallow cause both can do different things the other cant.
i want artest, but at the same time, i really like lamar odom because he has shown he can play well with a dominant forward and/or center. we have both those in bynum/gasol and i am still very curious to see how odom/gasol/bynum work together. so at the end of the day, i rather we keep LO for now.
well u had to know that posey was stayin he was tryin to get more money from c’s…
Keep everybody together and let’s see how the tri-towers work out. Get everybody healthy, especially Bynum and Ariza. Re-sign Sasha and Ronny.
Maybe sign a veteran big like Kurt Thomas or maybe even Kwame for some back-up muscle down low.
We should be good. The important thing is everybody comes back healthy and hungrier than ever.

Now Ron Artest, Pietrus, Maggette, James Posey, and whoever the heck we wanted.

maybe we have to not want Posey and he’ll come to us…remember we didn’t even pay attention to those Gasol to Lakers rumors…and then look at what happened…he’s a Laker and he loves it here (hopefully more than Ronny and him and Odom will be oh so willing to get a paycut to make room for Bynum and Farmar), so maybe if we could care less if we wanted Posey, he’ll come to us, idk…just a theory I’ve con{Profanity isn't allowed on theLakersNation.com -- Please go back and edit your comment. I KNOW IT MAKES NO SENSE IN TAKING MALIK ROSE, BUT THE REAL STEAL WOULD BE GETTING DAVID LEE. HE HAS BEEN A HUGE BACKUP FOR THE KNICKS AND BRINGS JUST AS MUCH ENERGY OFF THE BENCH AS RONNY TURIAF AND HE CAN QUICKLY FILL THE VOID LEFT BY RONNY. HIS NUMBERS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN RONNY’S AVG 11 PPG AND 9 RPG THIS PAST SEASON. AND WE COULD BE RID OF RADMAN’S TERRIBLE CONTRACT. =)
