Report: No one, including Lakers, is offering Posey full MLE?
Interesting. Seems that with Mags going to the Warriors, it seems that Boston is still in the mix for Posey. However, it seems that no team is offering him the MLE…
Boston.com: The Cleveland native is also drawing interest from the Cavaliers, Washington, New Orleans, Detroit, and the Lakers, but no one seems willing to offer the full mid-level exception ($5.5 million). When asked about Posey and [free agent Eddie] House, agent Mark Bartelstein said in a text message: ‘‘Nothing new.’’ Bartelstein, however, did say he hoped to get Posey signed in ‘‘the next day or so’’ and said the Celtics are still in the mix.
Also, interested in what Posey thinks? Well, you won’t hear much talking from Posey during free agency…
Boston.com: The two-time NBA champion, who is now at his offseason home in Houston, wasn’t available for comment and Bartelstein said it’s “not [Posey's] style” to speak during free agency.

how is this a surprise, dont give him the full mle
if its gonna take this long and this much money to sign posey, i say forget it. like i have been saying for a while now, just split the MLE in half between kwame brown and mo evans for 2-3 years each and probably use the veteran’s minimum to sign brent barry. we would be getting what we need in those 3 players. we get size, defense, energy, and shooting.

I agree with rickys first comment about mo evans the guy is a beast and to be paired with ariza, man!!! but having a bench of ariza and posey would be killer, and we will only get posey if sasha leaves cuz then we got 5 SF
I think the fear is also his age (31), so teams probably don’t want to sign him for more than 3 years.
I say trade the sleepwalker Lamar he only shows up when he wants to. Bring the wacko Artest for defense.
Get rid of Turiof, lower the pay offer for DJ Banga, and use that money and offer Posey.
That will be a Championship team for several years.

I do not want to see the Lakers lose Lamar. If we can sign Posey, just do it. Artest will be a free agent next year. If the Lakers could get him w/o giving up Lamar then go for it, but it seems that Lamar is the asking price. I do not make that trade.
