Joe Maloof was recently interviewed. Some very interesting stuff from the interview. I get the vibe he is very interested in dealing with Lakers and called Odom a “great” player while referring to Artest as a “good” player.

“Well you know they’ve called. They’ve called, and I think our GM Geoff has spoken to them (the Lakers) in the past regarding Ron. There a lot of teams that really have an interest in him.”
“Odom is a great player, Artest is a good player. That’s, that’s as much as I can say right now.”
“The Buss family does a great job. But, umm, if this, if this is gonna help us improve our team, and we think this will get us closer to a title, we will do a trade with any team. It doesn’t matter.”

I don’t want to give up Odom -_-.
Of course he is interested in moving Artest for Odom because Thomas would have to be involved and he would be getting rid of really really bad contract. Even if the Lakers wanted to trade Odom for Artest (and I am not sold that they do, all the rumors are coming out of Sac which seems kind of fishy to me) Thomas would be a deal breaker.
They can have Odom and Vlad, and we’ll take Artest and Sharief….

I heard the interview. Nothing new. All teams pump up their own players and say if we can make our team better we would be willing to trade. In case you didn’t hear the interview this is what you need to know what was said. BLAH.. BLAH … BLAH .. BLAH….
The Kings do need a starting power forward, hence they would have an interest in LO (his expiring contract of $14M doesn’t hurt either). I know they have Mikki Moore and Kenny Thomas, but let’s face it those guys aren’t starters. LO is a starter. In case you guys forgot, the Lakers acquired their starting power forward in Pao Gasol.

Lamar haters will be regretting this trade come next season. Im willing to bet anyone that the Kings end up a better team with Lamar over Artest and the Lakers will be worse. Bynum and Gasol has not proven to work because they have not played together and as Jerry West said we would be much less verstile and slower on the frontline.
