odom cant shoot, cant defend, and cant go right
artest is a way better shooter, scorer,dribbler, and defender for sure
if artest wasnt better than odom on the court than why would anyone want him? its artests off-court issues that we need to be worrying about
artest is way better than odom skill wise odom just has the physical advantage of height over artest
odom is a good player for his size but if you take size out of the equation and look at raw talent artest kills odom
Odom passes better than Artest, he rebounds better than Artest, and he’s a higher QUALITY scorer than Artest based on FG% and shots per game. Artest clogs offences because he wants to prove he can carry a load when he can’t. He’s a liability when it comes to off the court issues and can mess up a teams chemistry with his outbursts and selfish comments. He’s destroyed every franchise he has been apart of and is only sought out because he is a great defender (and I do mean that). The problem with Artest is that he doesn’t want to be just a great defender, he wants to be a great everything, and he just can’t be that. Look what he’s doing to the kings right now… Not opting out, then demanding a trade… Is that the kind of guy you want to root for?
Odom is unselfish and PLENTY of teams would love to have him. Yes, he tends to be spacey sometimes and lost, but his good characteristics outweigh his bad ones. He’s perfect at the small forward in the triangle and will be a great 3rd/fourth option and accepts it. Artest will want to be 2nd option.
As for Bynum, if he comes out and plays like he was playing before he got hurt, the league is in serious trouble. He will emerge to be the third best center in the league behind Howard and Ming.

i DISagree completely.. if everything you said was true then we would of had a parade this year, but we didn’t and it is partially due to Odom’s INABILITY to shoot mid-range consistently, drive to the basket with his right hand, drive to the basket with his left without charging, make an easy lay up and/or free throws, make defensive stops especially when it counted, etc. etc..
I don’t know what season you have been watching, but to prove my point look at the past 3 and you will see the trend..

I am not sure if this was posted anywhere else, but Bynum has the green light as of today:
Kupchak said Bynum has been in New York and underwent physical therapy in 19 of the last 21 days and has been cleared to work out and play.
“He’s basically on his own to begin conditioning and basketball activity, starting today,” Kupchak said. “It’s a process. Based on what he did last year, I would expect him to come in in mid-September basically in great shape. I know that’s his goal. He’s coming back this weekend, we’re going to meet with him Monday. He will go to Atlanta late next week to begin his training for the upcoming season.”
