This would be a great piece to add to the bench. What are your thoughts?
SportingNews: Speculation around the league, though, has Finley looking at league powers like the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics.
“There are other teams, championship-caliber teams that want Michael,” Thomas said. “But he is not going to be in a hurry. If you know Michael, you know he is going to think about this very carefully and make the right decision for him and his family. He won a ring with San Antonio and he will never forget that. So, that will weigh into his decision.”

TOOOOOooo old but whatever!
he would be a great addition to the team.
it would be great!!
No
we need a BIG MAN
big man por favor
He has got to be better than luke and vlad…
Nah, too old! We got Sashminator!
we need a guy with experience…
i think it would be a good addition to the bench, but uhh.. whatever
bring him on vets min
i unno what kinda help he can give to the lakers. all he would really be doing is be a ring chaser! we already have sasha, so hez useless!
I think if we didn’t get Sasha, then Finely would be a good addition. But we’re fine now with Sasha, so I don’t see Finley coming into the mix. And I think our draft pick Crawford is going to be a prospect. Coby Karl seems to be coming along too. The SG position and SF positions are filled.
But I still like the idea of Ron Artest. = ) Especially if we can still keep LO.
NO GET j.R SMITH
Not gonna happen. He must have been a backup plan. If the Lakers do anything at this point it will be them bringing in a minimum/BAE big. Kwaaaaay Brown, Skinner, etc. The only big I wanted with veteran intangibles went back to the Spurs.
BUT, I do like pipe idea #2 of Odom + filler for Deng and Hinrich at the moment than the present concocted Artest trades for the moment. Yes… that would be ideal and a much lower risk.
hmm interesting.. i really cant say yes or no..but knowin our luck hes not gonna sign with us…
I think the Lakers have four more roster spots to fill. in the group of candidates would be Coby Karl and Joe Crawford. The Lakers need a big to take Ronny’s spot. That spot could be Kwame, as their is talk to bring him back at the vet mim. If this is the roster then there is only one more spot to fill. That person could be Finley or someone who impresses in training camp. Perhaps that person could be someone from the summer league team.

I just remembered that the Lakers are going to bring Sun Yue to camp so I don’t think that Finley is a good choice. The competition will be tough and nothing is for sure unless the player has a contract. Even Joe Crawford and Coby Karl have to impress to make the team. I’d like
to see the Lakers bring in some players who are hungry to make a name and the NBA to put the pressure on everyone looking for a roster spot.
The team from last year learned what the playoffs require and the Lakers need to start from that point and improve.
Why are the Nets shopping Sean Williams? This guy is a great shot blocker. Is it a personality problem? I don’t know what they want for him but the ‘09 1st round draft choice sounds right.
Do we need Finely??????
Screw these rumors! We need a good small forward (defensive). Why would we need Finley when we have Sasha? We need lock down defensive players that are proven and not ancient! Paul Pierce is begging to be embarrassed next year. I’m sooooo ready to see our team at full strength with a chip on their shoulders. Make the world a better place, punch Paul Pierce in his wanna be gangster face! Go Lakers!!!!!
finallly, somebody who thinks like me
i think michael finley would be a great veteran/experienced addition to our roster, but we dont really need him because our SG and SF spots are pretty much secure already, but if we can get him cheap, i would be all for it. however, our biggest concern is we need a backup F/C. i really think the lakers should bring back kwame and since there is not many other choices left, i think he would be our best choice. he already knows our system, when healthy (like against phoenix 2 years ago), he played really well. he can strictly be a defender, shot blocker, and just more muscle and size inside the paint. i say its worth it now that we know he is not gonna cost us $9 million per year LoL!
our roster could be like this
C bynum
F gasol
F odom
G bryant
G fisher
C mihm
C (mbenga??)
C/F (kwame??)
F radmanovic
F walton
F ariza
G vujacic
G karl
G farmar
G yue
G crawford
What position does he play?
SF
We need DEFENSE: get ridda some of the softies & pick up someone that can actually play defense!
It’s a terriable idea. He is too old and slow and can only bring one thing to the team his outside shot which we already have young sharpshooter in the machine Sasha. leave the team intake and go out and get Kwame for almost nothing.
He doesn’t fit anywhere. Either he takes minutes from sasha and kobe, or joins Vladi, Luke, and Ariza in the logjam at SF.
Apparently Josh Smith may be the subject of a sign and trade. One team interested is a powerhouse in the West. Could this be the Lakers? Does Josh Smith make the Lakers better than if they merely held onto Lamar.
Speculation is that the sign and trade would have to include Lamar.
OMG, speechless
finally, people who think like me
I know Josh Smith is a great shot blocker, but is he a good on-the-ball defender? Can he play SF?
HELL NAH!!! TOOOOOO OLD!!!
HELL NO!I’m of these PAST - THEIR- PRIME players, time for “The Youth Movement” and that means The FO has no time to be wastin’ with OVER THE HILL PLAYERS!
Bynum is BACK,BABY and we need complimentary players to go along with him,Ariza,Farmar who will be the future of LA sooner than later, that was the reason Kobe went on the FO ’cause they weren’t making MAJOR moves…and it looks like another case of WE DO NUTHIN’..again,why? Luke is untradeable and Vlad…well who can we get for him,I know there has to be somebody but they don’t have to be 35 or 36.
I still say a call to Chitown would do the trick. Our front office has to know that HELP and CHANGE is the only option,39 point loss is a bitter pill to swallow and now Kobe will be in ALL types of trade scenarios all season so why not beat CHICAGO to the punch, seein’ though that’s where KB was headed…GETTYRUS!
Yeah, everybody’s interested in the Lakers until they find out that instead of paying them we want them to come for a “chance to win a championship”.
And the list continues to grow.
yada yada yada…
So True,Smush.
NO..
What about Sun Yue.The Chinese magic-san.
