Kobe to announce his surgery date for finger on Monday

Kobe will announce on Monday, from his Website KB24.com, his date to have surgery…

O.C.Register: Lakers guard Kobe Bryant has announced that Monday he will specify the date he intends to undergo surgery to repair ligament damage in his right pinky finger. Bryant plans to reveal the news on his website kb24.com.

Recovery time is expected to last at least six weeks, so if Bryant had immediate surgery, the soonest he likely would be back on the court would be the second week in October. The Lakers open training camp Sept. 27 at their El Segundo practice facility.

The idea of Kobe announcing on his website when he will have surgery on his finger is ridiculous. He has to get it fixed through surgery. It won’t heal on its own. I, like other Laker fans, am wondering what the big deal is about. Also, why is he waiting so long? He will probably have the surgery at a time where he’ll have to miss the entire training camp and maybe part of the pre-season. Sounds like he is planning it that why so he can get some “rest”.

    fake or not..

  13. Will says:

The Olympics just ended and we are complaining the Kobe is not having surgery quick enough. Kobe told everyone he will delay surgery until after the Olympics.

  14. Dave says:

“Fake or not?!” Like there is a chance that its real? Just how gullible are you?

By the way, anytime someone claims to know some “super secret information,” you can bet its not true, nor much of a secret.

  15. Geloman says:

Surgery should’ve been done already. He could be reasting and chilling right now while his surgically repaired pinky is healing up. Instead he’s planning press conferences and announcement. He’s probably gonna announce that he’ll have the surgery after this season is over.

KB24.com exclusive :: Update on Kobe’s injured pinkie
After seeking numerous opinions from hand specialists, Lakers guard Kobe Bryant has decided to forgo surgery on his right pinkie. Fresh off his Olympic Gold Medal performance in Beijing, Bryant expressed that he did not want to miss any time on the court when Lakers training camp opens later this month.

“I have always felt that I can still focus and play at a high level even through various injuries. That’s really just part of the game. When the doctors told me recovery from a procedure could be 12 weeks, I just decided now was not the time to have surgery. What it really came down to for me is that I just didn’t want to miss any time ‘punching the clock’ for the Lakers, given all we are trying to accomplish as a team this NBA season. I am just really excited and looking forward to being there with the guys when camp opens in a few weeks. That is a real bonding process and if I can avoid being on the sidelines for that, God willing, I will,” said Bryant.
