Sue Yue has mononucleosis
We wish Sun Yue a speedy recovery. Mononucleosis is an infectious disease ; characterized by fever, and swelling of lymph nodes. He will miss the start of training camp.
LA Times: Rookie guard Sun Yue has tested positive for mononucleosis, delaying the start of his Lakers career for an indefinite period.
He appeared to be in good spirits while meeting with local media members Wednesday afternoon, but was taken to a Los Angeles-area hospital a few hours later. He will not be ready for the start of training camp next Tuesday. There is no date for his return.

I don’t want to be the one fear the worst, but, from what I’ve read about Mono and what Darth was saying on the forums, about it flaring up every few week and he’s down for a full week or so, I don’t see a reason for him to make the team. I’d love to have him, but you can’t pay, and moreover, rely on someone who might be great for three weeks, then down for a full week after that, repeat and rinse. Unless the doctors have something that Darth didn’t get, I’ll pass, sorry Sun, we liked you too.
I know one of the lingering side effects is chronic fatigue. I know this can last for months even after the main symptoms of the virus are gone. Roger Federer had it and was playing bad tennis for like 8 months.
I believe his contract is gauranteed. This sucks. Please don’t let this be a sign of thing to come. Please let this be a healthy year for the team. Please!!

Oh man, and training camp is when he’ll have the most minutes to play. I got tickets for the game at Honda Center. Out of all the new Lakers, I wanna see him play the most!
