[Comment ID #51371 Will Be Quoted Here]

Dude, he's filling the spot of SMALL FORWARD. Which is a wingman. He's not going to be down low with Pau and Bynum, unless Phil Jackson works something out. I only see that on defense. Small forwards shoot more than power forwards. If he were to be downlow then there would be too much traffic.

And he doesn't get all of his 10 points from doing jumpshots, they're either his post moves or putting it back up from rebounds.

Oh OK…so let me get this straight, Kobe deciding to not get surgery on his pinky and possibly risking our season (but I still say that he shouldn’t get the surgery yet and I agree with his decision) was OK but Odom deciding that his “FIRST” opinion on the subject (Odom becoming a 6th Man) is not “OK” with anyone. Wow guys…you’re al selfish, and besides, the only way Phil would put Odom off the bench would be if Odom had accepted the role himself, not if the team accepted it! It will never be Phil’s choice on whether or not a certain player will either start, come off the bench, or become a bench warmer, the player has to decide whether or not he’s cool with it. Walton went from a starter to coming off the bench because despite not being happy with the decision, he accepted it and he was then cool with it.

You seem to not understand a few things.

About Kobe.

Kobe is clearly the captain of the team and I really thought that

he had to have that surgery after the Olympics.

Although personally I'm not too happy with Kobe's decision of not having the surgery; I understand that just like any other player Kobe could suffer a season ending injury that doesn't involve that pinky finger (hopefully he'll be ok cross fingers). Seems to me that Kobe just waited too long and after finding out about the recuperation time then he decided to forgo the surgery. I guess we'll have wait and see how it goes; hopefully he'll be just fine. Anyways.

How much longer should the Lakers give Lamar for him to really become that second punch that the Lakers really need?. He has never been that clutch player that really shines in the toughest moments you know. He is a solid all around player but his problem is that he is not an average size PF and he is not a SF. If he could at least develop a 18-12 ft jumper A La David West, or something similar to what Horace Grant used to do then he will be a great fit for the triangle offense but he has been with the Lakers for about 5 years now and honestly I just don't see him as that kind of player for the team; don't get me wrong he is still a solid player but the triangle offense needs a PF that not only can battle inside but that PF needs to be solid from distance at least within 18-12 feet.

The Lakers have Gasol a true PF that can hit jumpers and get rebounds and Bynum a center that can score inside and get rebounds as well. With Odom coming from the bench and depending of the circumstances like fouls on Gasol or fouls on Bynum he could always be that other option or even if they play a small team Odom should fill the role Ok.

I know many Lakers fans like Odom and consider they guy as an untouchable but IMO he just need that jumper to be a constant to fit in the triangle; if at least he could do that on the daily basis he will be great.

If he is not happy with coming from the bench then the Lakers should trade him.

I guess PJ will try different mixes with Lamar before making any decision and if he works good then he should start but then IMO what will he play? PF or SF.

Of course he's whining...he's on the last year of his contract, and his value will decrease being on the bench...he should take Ronny's place since he's only good at rebounding...why put him in a position to think, shoot, dribble, when he can't even do those things...remember this Odumb...one of the most "versatile" (cough...b_llsh_t) dumbest players in the league.

So much for Lamar having a great attitude, doing whatever he is asked and being a great team player.

This guy is a DOORKNOB and the sooner we get rid of him the better!
