Phil, Lakers want Livingston

We’ve talked about Livingston before, but now it seems both Phil and Fish would want him here on the Lakers! I’m open for anything that brings us more height and versatility, are you?

O.C. Register: Several teams remain intrigued with the prospect of having Shaun Livingston on its roster. That includes the Lakers, according to head coach Phil Jackson…  At 6-foot-7, and possessing uncanny court vision, Livingston is the prototype guard that Jackson covets. There is no one on the Lakers’ roster that has the playmaking skills that Livinston possessed when the Clippers selected him fourth overall in the 2004 draft….

“He’s Phil’s type of cat,” Lakers guard Derek Fisher said. “He’s versatile, with the ability to play a bigger guard defensively. We’re talented now but if Shaun somehow was able to join the mix, we’d be unbelievable.”…

Not going to happen. It’s a bad addition to our cap. Note Trevor will ask for more than his “SUPER-SMALL” next summer. LO is up for a possible extension. Kobe may opt out to sign a new contract with the Lakers. Bynum is due for more money. Even if we sign Livingston for minimum, he’s going to want more next summer.

Sign’em anyway, don’t care about the cap.We win this ‘Chip we’ll have SCRILLA FOR EVERYONE…even for you Shaun.

VOTEFORSHAUNASALAKER.com,Y’all gotta think..DF is not getting any younger and the jury is still out on Farmar being a starter…Shaun could be the answer.

He was picked before Josh Smith, AI and our Sasha in 04. We can’t afford him, but if he wants a ring, he can come for min.

Get Livingston. Without the injury i think he is a top 10 PG in the league. We need to see him workout and see if he still got it.
He has unbelieveable court vision. A tall poor man’s J-kidd.

Get em. I love Farmar and anybody that doesnt think he is going to be a great player is crazy. But Livingston is a good player now. I never heard of a team having to much talent, and we have the best coach when it comes to managing talent. And L.A. got the cake, luxury tax that, we can pay it! This is a no brainer.

    I don’t see this happening,
But of course I’d give the kid a shot.

DCLAKER knows whats up. sign this dude. no one wants to give him a contract at this point so we could sign him for cheap anyway.

I always thought that the Lakers should get a “taller” point guard. I was interested to see if the Lakers get Quinton Ross but since it didn’t happened they should give Livingston a shot. He could help a lot against the bigger point guards of the league and he fits in the triangle offense by being a tall guy that can handle the ball and can make assists.

Can’t the kid sign for training camp and if it doesn’t work out the coaching staff can cut em? Which I don’t think will happen, unless his injury really flares up.

The fact that no one wants to give him a contract should tell you something. He’s tried out for Miami, Minnesota, etc and none of them want him (and Miami desperately needs a point guard). There must be a reason.

if he doesnt ask for too much then sure..if he cant settle, then forget it

Check out his knees first. As to date, no one offer him a contract! Miami did not want him. This sounds too “fishy”. If hes is healthy, welcome to the “real” LA team. Sorry, Rookies, yall done here.

Lakersfirst is right. I said sign him over a month ago but he has worked out for several teams and they are passing on him for a reason.

  28. Gravatar Icon 28 sketch
