made some good points, but VERY BIASED towards Portland. Oden over Bynum? Oden has played 0 games in the NBA, so has proven absolutely nothing, and is coming back from a worse injury than Bynum, so how does this justify Oden over Bynum?

Bynum's been doing it, only a rival fan could say overrated because we're not making him out to be anything but a big defensive presence that we lacked in the Finals, which is 100% truth.

Portland [if they even make the playoffs] had better PRAY they don't get the Lakers, because it will be game over for them.

When they interviewed our Lakers rep, our guy had no idea about the huge BLAZERS vs LAKERS series with the infamous Kobe to Shaq alley-oop. If we're going to have these cool interviews with other blogs, make sure that when they return the favor and ask us questions, we have someone who has been a die-hard fan for longer than just three years to answer them. It makes this site and Laker fans look bad!

Just my opinion.

It's not that Bynum is overhyped by laker fans. No, no. It's more of their excitement towards a guy who is developing so well for a guy who barely played any high school ball.... a baller who was supposed to go to U Conn to be a third strain big man. Overhyped? I think not. We're just amazed at how fast he is improving. He didn't turn into another Olowokandi. He develops better than most players that came out of high school.

Almost forgot, at least he's not another Kwame Brown.

Nice interview. I think the answers were very fair, though there were topics that could have arguments going either way. It's ok. Nobody's perfect. I do disagree a little with Bynum vs. Oden and the 2 benches. Nice arguments already made by lakaluva, especially about how LA got rid of Kwame and got Pau. Oden never played a game in the NBA yet. Lakaluva is right in that Oden never really dominated in college. He did physically, but not skillfully. All that Dwight Howard is, is a dunker, rebounder, and intimidating defender. Bynum already did look more SKILLFULL with HALF A SEASON as A STARTER than Howard looked his whole career (and Howard started his whole career, I think).

Ah, about the benches. Ariza is a starter and he would match up very well against Webster/Outlaw. Odom over Webster/Outlaw. Farmar over Bayless, for now. HEALTHY Mihm over Przbylla. Vujacic over their backup SG. And as a unit, no other team had a better chemistry than the Lakers. So.. case closed.

The Lakers took off after Bynum went down because we added Pau and go rid of Kwame, which was huge!!! Also, we were in first place when Bynum got injured, therefore there was no "take off" so to speak, we just continued on.

Seriously, after reading through this thing again this guy may not know what he's talking about in regards to Oden and Bynum.

Sure Laker fans overrate Bynum for what we've seen of him, but then turns around and overrates Oden even more so without EVER seeing him play one professional game.

"Even at his worst, Oden is better than Pryzbilla… so in my mind the sky is the limit. He’s too good not too."

Now I don't think Oden will be a bust per say, but even this mild mannered statement is laughable to me. He doesn't know any more about what Oden can or won't do on the court than Oden himself knows.

Personally I think Oden will be a dang good center as will Bynum, but this guy talks out of both sides of his mouth (a weird saying, because who talks out of one side, but I digress) when he goes on and on about a Oden.

"And I think it showed when the Lakers took off with the addition of Pau. Anytime your team can make it to the Western Conference Finals without you, no matter what additions it speaks volumes."

So does this statement mean that since the Blazers looked dang strong last year and were tough without Oden that it goes for the Blazers too? If you proposed that too him, I'm sure his opinion in the quote above would be totally flipped. It almost sounds as if he doesn't want to recognize Bynum's possible monstrous play this coming year out of simple fear.

Look, this guy obviously knows what he's talking about on some level, but he's really hard to take seriously when he waffles back and forth with ideas and statements the way he did in this interview.

How does Oden have the edge at center when he hasn't played game one in the NBA?

The rest of it i can go with but that was an incredibly short-sighted "homeristic" (yes I made up that word just now) thing to throw out there.

Hey, Oden over Bynum now? Thats the only problem I had with the guy. I cant argue with the Blazers competing with us because... we cant beat them in Portland, or at least we haven't in a while. But we are better, and he knows that.

But mark my words on this, and I want credit for saying this now if this pans out. The Blazers to me have the 4th best team in the West as far as pure talent and youth, and dont be surprised if they get a seed in the playoffs to match it...
