TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Jazz

Welcome back to Laker basketball!

It seriously feels like it has been forever. And it looks like the fans of Lakers Nation weren’t the only ones rusty from Laker basketball. The Lakers found a way to turn the ball over 23 times tonight in a poorly executed game. But it doesn’t really matter since it doesn’t count so let’s think positive. How great was it to see Bynum back in action! It is amazing how deep this team can be when healthy.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Bynum had 15 points and 8 boards in limited minutes. Looked strong and beastly. Bynumite!

2) Farmar was quick to the basket and poured in 15 points off the bench. Great first game back for Farmar.

3) Ariza had 10 points in the starters role and played that role perfectly…should be interesting to see how many games if any, he starts.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Some guy Heath. Didn’t do much all night. 2 turnovers, no FGs. But what do you expect from some guy Heath?

Play of the Game: Bynum’s freethrow line jumper. Can we expect more of that?

What to Look for Next Game: Look for the Lakers to turn the ball over a lot. Why, because they can. Game is Thurs @ 7:00 PM.

Play of the game could also be that Derek Fisher pass to Andrew Bynum during the first quarter when Fisher dove to the floor, grabbed the ball and passed it behind his head to Bynum for the slaaaaaaam dunk.

dont make jokes about crack. it is real and people are really crackheads. and people whose loved ones are addicted to crack are prolly pretty sad about it…

that being said, Heath does look like a weirdo

They will come together by the beginning of the season. This game was just a test to see how they perform with a few months off and how the rookies play. We still got the best line up in the league.

Portland won by alot, and I expect them to be major overhyped on how they beat a short handed Sacramento (No more Bibby or Artest, and Kevin Martin wasn’t even playing)

Yup, just what I was gonna say. It was dead sexy seeing Bynum draining jumper after jumper though.

If we can’t joke about crack cuz some people are affected by it, we can’t joke about anything.

Heath looks like a bigger Chris Paul to me. Not gameplay wise, just looks.

Minor insight: If you have it tivoed, id advise everyone to take a second look at C.J. Giles(not Miles). He looked as if he was gunnin for that final roster spot. He was agressive, without being sloppy, he played within the confines of the game, and positined himself well. Ofcourse the likely hood is that he wont make the team and if he did he would be 0-few minutes, but he definitly looks like a player who could develop with the experince of being on the team, Not the D-League.
In the other hand is Coby Karl, I think Mitch’s Carolina debt is officially paid up. If this had been any one else he would not have been invited back. Coby is not an NBA talent. His supposed specialty is his shooting ability which is completly questionable. He had one good shooting exhibition and that was 2-3rd game of a preseason last year. He was only geeting off because Critt was drawing more attention and this was giving him open shot after open shot. He is even a questionable D-leauge talent. I say lets rid ourselves of this delima of deciding wether to keep him or not. Get Divac on the phone and get him a job in Serbia.

haha, nah man, heath looks like a ghetto ass kanye west.

or the “i’ll suck yo D” guy in don’t be a menace

  16. Gravatar Icon 16 lakers2000

I thought Lamar picked up where he left off. No D. I was thinking more than ever that he will be gone by the trade deadline. I totally agree that Trevor should start. I also wish Vladrad was tradable. This team looks like it has its work cut out for them. Bynum is going to be fun to watch! Go Lakers!!!!

I see a trade before Dec.15,don’t know who but it will be major….but on a lighter note,CJ Giles is all I’m hearing about, him,Ariza and My Favorite “NEW” Laker,Josh Powell.

CJGILESWANTSTOBEALAKER.com,I’m praying for’em,guy has been through alot and wish’em the best.

LO just showed me that he really has talent… he’s got “coming-off-the-bench” talent. LO will be fighting for the 6th man of the year award. Good luck, LO.

  19. Gravatar Icon 19 LET THERE BE LIGHT

it is the first game and LO was playin different roles. but hopefully he picks up his play or its gonna be bye bye lamar. also we dont need coby karl, heath, or crawford. i wanna see what d.mitchell can do (heard he got some hoops and can play D) people have to remeber we got luke, and sun yue. so we need to get rid of the scrubs, by the way Giles looks nice we should keep him. other than that everyone else lokks like they fit. Vlad rad still got butterfingers.

  20. Gravatar Icon 20 LakersFirst

Too many turnovers. Offense needs to protect the ball more.

  21. Gravatar Icon 21 Tim

play of the game = Fisher no look to Bynum
