Nation Discussion: To McDyess or not to McDyess?

According to this ESPN article, McDyess was waived by Denver which means he is a unrestricted free agent. While all the reports claim the same thing – McDyess will wait 30 days and return to Detroit, others say multiple teams including the Lakers have a small interest…

Such NBA powers as the Celtics, Lakers, Cavaliers, Hornets, Raptors, Rockets, and Suns are among those interested. However, an NBA source very close to McDyess said as of yesterday he plans on returning to Detroit, and many people close to him say they’d be shocked if he went elsewhere.

This one is simple, should the Lakers even try to go after McDyess or is the Lakers’ 6-0 ferocious start enough to justify passing on the old vet? Sound off!

    answer: yes
he is more beneficial b/c u keep him away from the enemy!!!

PJ has already said Lakers have no interest. . . so discussion is moot.

  2. xtro says:

  3. e says:

  4. ShortDiezel says:

  5. Whatsa says:

  7. sorry Luke! :(

remember i gave you a Verve!?

  8. DCLAKER says:

For one season..yes. Him and Ariza would be INSANE on the defensive end for our second…though I’m starting to like Vlad and his defense.

…AND HE WANTS TO WIN A RING BAAAAAAAAD!!!!

  9. mr.laker19 says:

    Nope, not necessary

  15. DCLAKER says:

  16. IrieVibes says:

Why should we care about this. We are so stacked already. No reason to even think about it.

  17. Andrew Rafner says:

there are no minutes. idiotic discussion.

  18. T from the ING(Antoine Adams) says:

Hurry up & get macdaddy MCDyess, please. Don’t get it mixed up—when our big me really get around big, tough, hardcore men that can bang, get grimmy and really play tough. Our big men run faster than A.C. Green stuck in a strip club.
Our Lakers are just like the city LA. Awesome on the outside, empty on the inside. All show & no go! Especially when they get around real black basketball men, oh yeah they can’t handle the really quick and tough brothers either. Hell, I’m not hating, just speaking the TRUTH.
The truth, I better say that quitely because VLAD RAD might think I mean P. Pierce & start running like the bitch he is.
You can tell him I said it too. PLAY some F’n DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. 4 a change.

I love the LAKE DOGS But they have to be real with themselves. Defense / Rebounds WINs Championships, Period.

    Love always,
    T from the ING.
    I KNOW the game!
    Antoine

  19. sketch says:

Rafner, it’s not idiotic…we make minutes for a McDyess. At the very least, since he doesn’t know the offense, we can have him in during a defensive stance! It’s idiotic to claim your statement and not even entertain the idea of adding McDyess!

Absolutely grab him! McDyess is still an extremely viable PF! He has a nice jumper, is physical, and can defend well. We could use him and send Powell and Mimh further down the bench. He would make us that much tougher down low. No one will be able to claim that the Lakers are soft after adding McDyess into the mix! Right now, we’re a solid team defensively, as far as physicality goes. With him, we’ll absolutely be able to bounce Boston around.

  20. John Barry Sux says:

I guess you guys missed the news that said he is not going to play anywhere but DETROIT. Or the comment Phil Jackson made saying they are not interested in even pursuing him. Waste of time discussion.

  24. DCLAKER says:

I just want a DYNASTY…Detroit will be 5th or 6th spot, going knowhere…his best bet is to come to LA for a ring or…remember Charles Barkley(no ring).

  25. Kb_24mvp says:
