Pau Gasol named European player of the year

Congrats to Gasol and his well deserved award!

Yahoo! Sports: Pau Gasol just missed two championship titles in 2008, but he landed one other title: European Player of the Year.

Gasol was honored by La Gazzetta dello Sport, one of the premier sports journals in the world. It was judged by a panel of players, coaches and basketball journalists.

Ahahahaha, La Gazzetta is one of the premier sports journals in the world?

Ahahahaha, I’m Italian and trust me, it’s nothin else then another italian journal: full of bullshits.
La Gazzetta has 200 pages of soccer and ONE dedicated to the basket from THE WORLD.
The 15 years old soccer championship has more space then the NBA.
    Could you believe that?
    It’s an AWFUL Journal.

Whatever, I’m very happy about this award, but it’s not a surprise to me.
Pau this year was the best Not-USA player in the NBA, even better then the El “baldy” Narigon and he played very good @ the Olympic Games.
He’s the best in the old-country, hands down.

  8. Christina Leong says:

Gasol’s role has not been contested when he faced Utah’s Carl Boozer, Houstson’s Yao Ming, Luis Scola, Hayes, Denver’s….. my mind is blank… and most of all, he man handled and even got some help but all credit goes to him for handling Superman. He achieved it all especially superman and that gave everyone a slap in the face for putting him in third all star team when he deserves to be all star with Kobe and…. my mind is blank again.
