Nation Discussion: Bring Horry back!?

This has been something that has been discussed before, but it’s perhaps time again. Robert Horry joined the Fox Sports halftime show before the against the Miami Heat and mentioned he is keeping in shape and would love to “get a call” to return to action somewhere in the league. No doubt he wouldn’t mind coming back to the Lakers; where he won more rings than with the Rockets (2) & Spurs (2) in his illustrious career.

As he also said, he wants to coach. I think he would be extremely valuable as a player coach – must like Cassell on the Celtics last year – especially for a shot at the NBA title that the Lakers are undoubtely on their way to achieve. I say bring back Horry for none other than to provide experience and leadership on this team… and to perhaps hit his trademark game winning shot, or two, along the way!

Another thing valuable of what he mentioned:”He wins rings every other year, I missed one last year.”

    lol..

  4. Smush Walton says:

In his last finals with us, Big Shot Bob was 0 for 32 on 3’s and that was one of the reasons we had no four-peat.

    NO THANKS!

  5. LAKERSstateofmind says:

No future value as a business investment. Sure it be great to have him as a mentor. Unless he gets signed for 500k, I say nay.

  6. xtro says:

Big Shot Rob needs to return where he belongs: Los Angeles. Sign him!

  7. Ballin '09 says:

He’s just trying to ride a sure thing to a championship…His 7 championships make him sound better than he is. No thanks free loader. Your Defense and Shot aren’t what they use to be. Stay your @$$ in Texas or maybe…you’ll wanna join the Celtics if the Lakers don’t pick you up. LMAO.

  8. 123kid says:

maybe he can knock down rondo like he did steve nash to secure our championship!

  9. WifelovesLuke says:

Loved Rob in his day, but no longer. Besides, outside shooting is not our weekness. All of the speedy guards getting into the paint is the key to our downfall on defense. We need a speed gonzales who can guard the likes of Nash, Williams, Rondo, Parker, CP3, etc. As you can see with the Triangle, offense is fine without Farmar. Defense, Defense, Defense!

  10. Mitch4Pres says:

id be down but only after we’ve tried to get marbury or pargo

  11. killo15 says:

yes if we waived mbenga cause we dont need another big

  12. lakerschamps09 says:

man idc i want horry back.. jus so he can get another ring i mean come on if he aint hit that shot vs kings we neva have a 3 peat.. and had that 3 vs spurs stayed down instead of poppin out we woulda gone to next round and then to finals and won four in a row… yea jus sign em…

  13. Lakers 24 7 says:

hell..WHY DON’T WE BRING BACK TYRONE LUE, DEVEAN GEORGE, SHAQ, AND THE REST OF THE GANG ALONG WITH HORRY!

YOUR RIGHT!…lets bring back Rob just so he can knock down the opposing teams star point guard…

  15. Paul says:

    LOL?

If Horry stays in shape and keeps up the pace with the Lakers, then sure. As long as he signs for cheap. And also, he said he WANTS to coach, so like a player-coach.. sign him for cheap.

    Maybe?

We dont need another forward although horry would be nice. What we need is Pargo or another pg with all of our backups pgs injured (Sasha and Farmar) We need to ship CHris Mihm’s @#$ OUT.

  20. xtro says:

if pj brown, an aging veteran, was able to help the hated Celtics win the NBA Finals, then perhaps Big Shot Bob can do the same to the Lakers.
