We've got the rings Gary. Nuff said.

And as down by 40 ya I'll give you that but we swept you in the regular season the next year and won the 2009 Championship. Don't give me this if we were only healthy cop out. We're going to repeat and do it like a real dynasty should. Since the 80s I'm sure you'll agree which franchise owns the NBA with the most rings. Can you really take pride in all those Boston finals victories in the 60s? If it wasn't for lack of talent around the league Bill Russell wouldn't have won that many. Why would the NBA use Jerry West's logo to personify the NBA? The Lakers are "clutch" Gary. Nuff said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All this means nothing unless you can win in the Finals. But what it does mean is that people have faith in you. And the statistics don't show in what type of games they took the last shot. I remember when the USA team had last possession shots when they played against each other. Kobe made his and Lebron missed. What would be a more accurate statistic would be 4th quarter FG% & FT% & turnovers in the last minute. Being clutch can mean keeping your team from having to shoot the last second shot to have to win. Even though Shaq won 3 mvp finals awards he wasn't clutch in all those categories. Neither is Lebron. So I'd really have to see more than just 1 piece of the pie to make a better judgement of who is more clutch in my opinion.

For instance many of the same people will say that, in the clutch, Kobe is the man you want taking a game winning shot, however the facts show a different story. There are 35 players in the NBA who have taken at least 20 “game winning” shot attempts in the last five year. Of those only Chauncy Billups, Rasheed Wallace, Jermaine O’Neal and Mike Miller have a lower field goal percentage. So perhaps he is the one you’d want taking that shot…if he’s the fifth guy on that team, but then, maybe you’d prefer someone else entirely. In contrast, with six fewer shot attempts (50) James has made three more shots for a total of 17 game winners in the last 5 years, the most of anyone in the NBA. My point here isn’t really to get into a discussion about who’s the better clutch shooter though, it’s to show that simply because something is perceived to be so it isn’t necessarily so.

5th in game winning shots since 03, wait a minute, those stats include Lebrons rookie year. The King is FIRST in game winning shots since joining the league. Wake up laker fans, Kobe is old and Shaqless, Lebron took teams to the finals 2yrs ago, conf champ series last year(took Boston to the last minute of game 7 to win). Kobe took you guys to the finals last year only to get smoked by Boston(down by 40 in one game).

We hear and read about this poll every year for the past 6-8 years lol. I think we know by now that Kobe is the best clutch, big shot player in the league right now and for the past few years. NBA players, coaches and GMs say it all the time.

[Comment ID #61831 Will Be Quoted Here]

This wasn't about how well he did in the 2nd and 3 rd qtr. It was about his shooting percentage at the end of the game. Sure Kobe is a great shooter and he can make them at the end of the game probably better than anyone, but what this tells us is he probably shoots bad percentage shots at the end of the game and therefore misses alot. Perhaps those tough shots with 2 or 3 guys around should be passed to a Fish or Sasha. Facts don't lie unless we want to believe the lie.
