Bynum to pass on USA Basketball minicamp to rehab knee, get healthy

Andrew Bynum looks to work hard this summer for the USA training camp.

O.C. Register: And when this series ends, so will the fun for Bynum. He’s not really supposed to be doing all this game stuff on his not-fully-healed right knee. So he revealed that he is giving up his invitation to USA Basketball’s minicamp in late July in Las Vegas, even though he desperately wants to make a run at the national team for 2010 and definitely the Olympic team for 2012.

No, I’ve got to get my legs right,” he said. “I’ve got a little rehab set to do, plus I need to take about a month off just to get rid of the tendinitis, just get treatment and loosen up my hips and stuff. It definitely would’ve been fun to do, but I’ve got to get right.”

yea, it’s better that he gets his knees back to 100 % and the USA Basketball team isn’t going anywhere. I think he’ll be a good addition to the ‘redeem team’ lol.

I think that is probably why no one on the clippers got invited… “[Team USA] need[s] real nasty players and not powder puffs!!!!”

At least we know where his dedication is at. If he’s dedicated on coming back next season strong like he did in the beginning of this season before he got injured, coupled with training with Dwight Howard in the off season then he’s gonna be an All Star come February. After he has tasted defeat last year and being part of a championship team this year, he should be hungry for more. I mean like “stomach growlin”…hahaha just ask LeBron.
