Lakers reserves are aware there’s room for improvement
L.A. Times: One game into the regular season and already there was the search for a story line, this after the Lakers got their championship rings Tuesday night and defeated the Clippers on an emotional evening in the season opener.
And there it was at the Lakers’ practice Thursday, a developing plot.
What’s wrong with the Lakers’ bench?
There were questions asked about how poorly the bench performed in the first game.
Here’s the thing: The reserves asked the same questions.
“Yeah, we’re probably making too much of it,” Luke Walton said after practice Thursday. “But the guys on the bench are upset with the situation, with all that stuff. The coaches are probably upset with us. We’ve got 81 [games] more. We’ve proven over the last three years that we have a pretty reliable bench.”
It wasn’t just that the Lakers’ bench wasn’t productive, scoring a total of nine points against the Clippers and playing limited minutes, forcing the starters into logging heavy minutes.

Well Im glad they see their faults and want to improve upon it. I hope they do improve though.
They should know they sucked last game, we cant afford that this year if we want another ring man, i just hope they play really good all season cause we need the starters to get their rest.
It is time for these guys to siht or get off the pot! This is the best chance of a championship we have had in years. We will get crushed by the more elite teams if our bench shows continual inconsistency. Go lakers!!!!!!
Best chance in 9 years? Dude, we just won the whole thing last season and just got better with Artest joining the team.
Everyone just needs to calm down. 82 games is a long season to already be worrying about this crap.
They better come to play tonight. Lets keep that undefeated record going. 82-0
Please haters stay off my nuts.
Bench Mob kick that ass. You got the celtics bench strong as hell. We need to get in there soory heads that
we are the world champs.
Boston sucks.
Sasha, farmar, Luke , josh powell ,morrison step up or step out
yea… DACOS AKA MBENGA better lay off that ugly ass jump shot of his.
Ya, it was kind of funny to seem Mbenga jacking up jump shot after jump shot. Even the TNT crew got a kick out of that.
It seems like every time the bench improves one game and then the next they kind of rely on the starters. The problem is once the playoffs start, we rely on the starters and I think the bench doesn’t have enough confidence that they can get it done. Guys besides Lamar and Shannon on the bench need to contribute. It’s definitely something we need to figure out and is a big key of the season. When we figure it out, it’s gonna suck for the rest of the league.
Fuk the reserves they suk they fuked up tonight tooo
