Kobe's Circus Shot

Ron Artest says he’s shooting well

Ron feels he’s shooting great, although his numbers are rather low. I’m not worried about him, however, it will come.

Picture 1L.A. Times: His stats tell one story.

He tells another.

The two are conflicting, confounding even when Ron Artest explains his woes on offense.

He’s shooting only 25% (four for 16) from the field, 22.2% (two for nine) from three-point range. He’s even missing from the free-throw line, making only 33.3% (three for nine) of his tries.

Those numbers say Artest’s shot has betrayed him. He says otherwise.

“I feel like I shot the ball well,” Artest, who is averaging 6.5 points after two games with the Lakers, said after practice Saturday. “I feel like I’m playing great. That’s how I feel.”

Artest’s problems started in the exhibition season, when he made only 39.6% of his shots, 25% of his three-point tries and 57.6% of his free throws.

once Pau gets back, we are gonna need his ball distribution and defense more than his scoring.

  2. He is just not used to shooting when no one is guarding him.

Just needs a chance to adjust to a new type of ‘class’ basketball dynasty, and of course the Triangle. But I predict now: watch out when he clicks – that’s when the Lakers will be dangerous.
Also, he’s used to playing off dissention (coaches, other players) – Phil is giving him free reign to find his own style, and that’s new – we will all see a different ‘killer’ Artest by the end of the season.

I agree.. He gets tapped, most of his shots rim out.. He doesn’t miss wildly like Farmar and Sasha.. They will go in, he just need to get some Zebra loving.. The Refs screw him over too much..

    IT’S ONLY BEEN TWO GAMES!

He’s not throwing up bricks guys. His shots look good and he’s making good decisions. Most of all, he’s looking to fit into the system, which is a good sign of things to come. And I’ll say it again… IT’S ONLY BEEN TWO GAMES.
